#30 Rene Magritte and Kal-Dar The Cave Man (TIME TRAVELERS)

| November 30, 2011 | 0 Comments

And we end with a two-fer for good measure! Rene-Magritte has always been one of my favorite artists and I always thought “how cool would it be if the surrealists weren’t making it up” What if Dali Painted melty Clocks not because he dreamt them up but because he actually viewed these off the coast of an alien world in a far flung future?

So Rene Magritte using a time traveling orb from the Future travels through time with  Kal-Dar a Cave man he saved when visiting the dawn of man. Kal-Dar has been traveling with him since that day hoping to repay the debt. DO NOT tell Kal-Dar that “time travel is so easy a cave man could do it…” he doesn’t like that.

Hope you all enjoyed my submissions because I definitely enjoyed the ones I got to see every day from these awesome contributors!

Rita Brady was awoken from the stasis by the Nopterax, and immediately went into cardiac arrest as the atmosphere of Earth era 800,000 AD hit her lungs.  The aliens were expecting this reaction and were ready to begin the operation. Her body was retrofitted to suit the current environment and her role in the Nopterax terra-forming and colonizing operation, as a slave worker building in-roads into savage, over grown territories.  She thought she’d awoken in Hell, but from the depths of despair, out there on the wild fringes of an alien civilization and the artifacts of the world she’d lost, Apocrita finds her new identity will bring her on an adventure beyond human experience.

This is not anything like my usual style, but that’s what this challenge is for, right?

#2 – Football Ninja

Another ¨old character¨. I think I’ll be focusing on these characters I have that never got properly drawn yet, or I haven’t drawn in a while.

Football Ninja was the first villain, and later to be an ally to the main character of the story, Hoodie Knight.

He is the most fearsome orc bandit in the lands, and as a ninja, he has the ability to clone himself enough times to form an entire football team, which is also his robber gang, the ¨Stillmoon Eleven¨. Curiously, each copy has a different number on their back.

Another experiment with brushes, and as always, some photoshoppin’ action.

#6 Ecce Homo by Titian

I’m not going to lie to you — this one is a little weird. The reason for this is that before the challenge started, I pulled a bunch of adjectives and nouns that I liked out of the dictionary and assigned them each a number. Before I do a new character, I use a random number generator to pick the adjective and noun that is going to describe that character. Hence, some of these are a tad absurd. So, moving on:

Criminals of Vienna, Beware! Though by day Ecce Homo by Titian is a simple painting hanging on the walls of a museum, but night he uses his extensive knowledge of painting technique to help the VPD hunt down the vicious serial killers of Northeastern Austria. Though his beautiful brunette police contact is often skeptical of his ability to solve crimes using knowledge of chiaroscuro, impasto, and the like – He always gets his man…or lady.
