#27 – Rosebud Juarez
Ghost ecologist. Spirit hunter. Will help your relatives’ souls to rest for a modest fee. To fund her research, you understand. She shakes her head. You clearly don’t understand.
Former anthropology student and sometime librarian, raised by her curandera grandmother. When she was 15, she sustained a wound trying to stop a fight. Instead of healing normally, it turned out to be a conduit to an otherworldly source of power. She tried to hide it, but her abuela found out and sent her to learn with some strange folks known only as Los que Saben (Those Who Know). Has been known to cross paths with Circus Proxima. A fan of King Lonesome.
“The dead are all around us. they have their own culture, society, and — most importantly — their own ecology. It must be managed. I have studied how to do this. the balance must be held, and I can make it so.”
#16 Co-Pilot
A powerless youth, Co-Pilot was Squadron Leader’s sidekick in the early days of his career.
Co-Pilot’s career began when he “borrowed” a jet pack designed by Dr. Omnibus and helped save Squadron Leader’s life.
Sadly, Co-Pilot’s career was short lived. After only 4 years of working with Squadron Leader, Co-Pilot died in a tragic accident.
Day 2: Jessamine
Did you know Nov 2 is Dia de los Muertos?
Now you do.
She’s basically a “bonesona” from a webcomic called Helvetica (I suggest you check it out.)
Jessamine is a lovely young skeleton lady who died an early death (reasons as yet untold). In the world of Helvetica, the first word you say after death is your name.
Jessamine apparently smelled some Carolina Jessamine (a beautifully scented flowering ivy) when she awoke into death and noted it.
She enjoys spending her time crafting clothes for herself and prefers to hide her face (reasons untold).
Jessamine died in her early 20s, she’s shy and quiet . One could assume she died a lonely death.
