Day 29: Demon King
Jumping back to Demonstar for today. This is the “end boss” of the module. 3d model (and print) by myself, MS Paint render by my talented brother, Cameron Croft.
Day 28: Trollwife
In the peat bogs deep within the Ironwood, the trollwives birth monstrous wolves. One day, the greatest of these wolves, Fenrir, will take to the sky and swallow the moon. This is one of the playing pieces for my 3D print-and-play game, Pocket-Tactics, which may be downloaded for free here.
Day 27: Forest Troll
Another character from the Brood of the Ironwood set for my game, Pocket-Tactics. The full set, along with its matched faction (Men of Midgard) is shown below.
Day 25: Raggok Mansplitter
The final Killosseum entry, a remix on last years Blisterbelch (who also got further treatment here). Below, you can see the fighters and the Killosseum itself, 3D printed in all its glory!
Day 24: Myzter Myztik
A warrior with an unknown past who battles in the Killosseum with mystical powers.
Day 23: Squaid
An alien diplomat confused for an invader, Squaid was thrown into the Killosseum and has been using his psionic abilities to fight for his life ever since.
Day 22: Zara Zain
Shipwrecked on Xator Prime as a child, Zara grew up in the Techno-Wastes, and learned to hone her fighting skills against the deadly robot warriors native to the scrap world. Having escaped that mechanical hell, Zara is now a champion of the Killosseum, fighting to repay a debt to a Zero-Syndicate overboss.
Day 21: O.M.G.
“Oh my god, its O.M.G.!” Seven-time Killa-Dome championship holder, sent to the Killosseum after a shameful loss to a nobody.
Day 20: MURDER-O, Modular Robot Gladiator
A gladiator for the Killosseum Pocket-tactics set/accessory I’m working on.
Day 19: Himthiki
Fearless defender of the villages of Midgard. This is the final playing piece for my new Villagers of Midgard set (a good foil for the previous Raiders from the Far Shore faction). You can find these and other factions for my 3D print-and-play board game, Pocket-Tactics here.
Day 18: Thrall
Another playing piece for my Villagers of Midgard Pocket-Tactics set. One more and I’ll post the complete, printed set….
Day 17: Bondi
An indentured servant working toward their freedom. Another playing piece for the Midgard Villagers Pocket-Tactics set.
Day 16: Folc
A viking woman playing piece for my next Pocket-Tactics set. Folc is the pre-viking term for a free farmer or craftsman.
Day 14: Rebel Captain
Back to the Demonstar pieces. This guy is one of 6 player pieces for my WIP, 3D print-and-play board game. The pixel-art below is by my insanely talented brother, Cameron Croft.
Day 6: Separatist Contractor
Another player piece for my WIP, 3D print-and-play board game, Demonstar.
Day 4: Lopeing Fiend
A monster piece for my WIP, 3d-print-and-play board game, Demonstar. Once all of these guys (and the tiles, counters, etc) are finished, you’ll be able to download the rules and parts for free on thingiverse.com.
Day 3: Privateer Commando
Finally got my printer up and running again! As such, I should have 3D prints of these guys from here on out. The pieces are pretty small (about 20mm tall) so a lot of the detail won’t show through, but they’re serviceable boardgame pieces at this size to be sure.
Day 1: Slithering Fiend
For the first post, I decided to go with one of the game’s monsters. I’ll have a 3D print of this guy before long (still waiting on a replacement part)
2013 Returning Challenger: Dutch Mogul
Hey, everyone! So, as if I didn’t learn my lesson last year, I plan on wearing myself out yet again! This year, each of the characters I design will be new playing pieces for my ever-expanding, modular, multi-genre, 3D print-and-play tabletop strategy game, Pocket-Tactics. Each of the characters I post will be made available as Mercenary pieces that may be used with any of the existing factions. I’m going to try and post pictures of fully printed models along with the 3D renders.
If you’re interested in the process, be sure and check out my personal blog, and check in with the Ill Gotten Games blog for news on all of our game projects.
Good luck, everyone, and I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!
