Recumbent Man
Recumbent Man gave up his lifestyle of hoarding food, building shelters, and cleaning rifles to begin a trip around the world on his recumbent bicycle, barefooted, sunburned, and lean.
“I’m so hot. Use a cars as a catapult? That’s easy. I can ride, or I can launch myself here.”
Planning to be passing through your own town in the next few weeks, you need to be ready, or you’ll miss him when he flies past.
“Bicycle races are coming your way, so forget all your duties, oh yeah.”
City-Slicker
City-Slicker was once the kind of man who preferred beans, sweat, dust, and the lonliness of the plains, but now he has moved to the big city to use his newfound city dweller powers for the forces of good.
“Well, shit, it’s like, there’s only so much horsetail and whiskey in the world, sometimes a guy needs some watertowers and bridges.”
Often seen riding his steed, Scarlett, through the back alleys of the dirtiest neighborhoods in the city, City-Slicker is known for his keen sense of observation and timely knack of jumping into a situation to save others.
“Whel, ah’ll be. I seen this town, twernt nothin but a few shacks, two competing gangs, a bartender, a madam’s, and a gravedigger. Why cain’t a guy like me come to the big city and make a name for my self?”
Day 29: Kraul
The 26th century’s greatest warlord was at one time one its most celebrated heroes. The being known as Kraul hails from the Unified Stellar Conference founder world of Sal H’ar. Kraul was born into poverty, in a society made on a rigid caste system. His only way out was to either join a criminal guild, or to enlist in the UIC Starcorp. He chose the later, and was accepted into the officer’s accademy. Kraul graduated first in his class, but his early career was marked with a series of unremarkable posts, and misuse by superior officers of his obvious talents. This all changed with the advent of the UIC/Thrallian War of 2480-85, and his first encounter with General Symane Braxis. Braxis saw the young captain’s promise and military prowess, and took him as his aide de camp. Both men rose to prominence during the war, with Kraul having achieved the rank of General. Things however started to unfold during the peace negotiations. Kraul was one of the proponents that claimed the terms of armistice were too lenient and restablished borders and conditions to pre war status. Kraul’s fustration was noticed by a young Thrallian delegate named Durksan Bjurn, who was a bitter, hawkish, aristocratic, upstart who blamed the Thrallian Political establishment for loosing the war. He began a political relationship with Kraul that would result in his defection and betrayl from the UIC to the Thrallians, and aiding Bjurn to overthrow the Thrall Government and establish his dynasty as Bjurn I. Kraul then became the Grand Viceroy of the Thrallian army, which he built into a first rate war machine, resulting in a cold war between the UIC and the Thrallians that persisted into 2502. When a series of attacks on various UIC worlds and space stations ignited The Second Thrallian/UIC War. This time he and his former mentor Braxis are on opposite ends of the conflict.
#28 Furnace Face
Furnace Face : status: villain
neovidual abilities: Furnace Face’s body is completely composed of living flame. He designed a suit that harnesses the heat of his body to melt steal girders and discharge streams of molten metal at his foes. Furnace Face can also channel focused flame blasts from his head when he opens his stove like helmet.
#27 Healstone
Healstone has the neovidual power of extremely rapid healing. He can also heal those he touches just as rapidly even to the scale of limb regeneration. When Healstone touches a person to heal them he literally extends his power to the person he touches. In a sense the receiver is borrowing Healstone’s power via touch. However , this link by touch flows both ways. Healstone’s body will temporarily take on the exact injuries the other person has suffered , cut for cut, bruise for bruise, experiencing the exact same pain as the person he touches before his power rapidly takes effect- eventually healing them both.
Healstone runs a secret underground network of emergency clinics for active neovidual heroes/heroines where his abilities can best serve his cohorts.
#28 Star Phantom
#28 Star Phantom (Sci Fi/Superhero) In the far future, a superhero arises to help solve the problems found in outer space. Traveling from star system to star system in a star craft built into an asteroid, the one only known as Star Phantom and sidekick Nikki try to make the stars safer for everyone.
This is a new drawing of an old character. Why call him “Star Phantom”? Because the name “Space Ghost” has already been taken. The difference is that this hero travels with an adult woman (Nikki — it’s too bad I don’t have the time to draw her picture; she looks very nice in her tight black and white outfit) rather than two teenagers and a “space monkey”. Also, besides a few technological gadgets to make his job easier, Star Phantom’s big trick is to turn his body into a living cloud of hot plasma.
#29-Eon Enlyo
The main spokesman for the UN Taskforce. He speaks to the public and reports to the UN themselves about any and all activity the metas make. He’s been bored as of late, though he’s noticed Twist disappearing. Eon’s tried to follow Twist, but despite all of Tinky’s synthetic upgrades, Eon can’t keep up.
#28-Incessant
Incurably stubborn and impossible to shut up, he has driven thousands insane and killed and resurrected millions repeatedly over and a few universes with the one diatribe that started the first time he spoke after a car accident and stopped suddenly during the Taskforce’s attempt to stop him. Some believe he talked himself into not existing anymore, but a couple of his former victims have talked about an incurable buzzing in their ears recently.
#26-Fi-Rei
The third of the five elements (Twist, Quake, The Unwashed, Suenami and herself) on the planet, Fi-Rei is the first of the two females. Formerly part of the UN Taskforce, she has since separated herself from the humanity, pitying them. The beauty and knowledge provided by the fire powers she has been graced with can lead her to become something beyond human, and she believes she will only find out if her brothers and sisters join her. She has tried to enlighten her fellow elements, but they never accept. No matter how much she appeals both their transcendent or human natures, Twist, Quake and Suenami refuse to join with her. Since that has proven fruitless she has gone to find their lost sibling, the Unwashed, though she keeps the belt to her old costume in case they ever change their minds.
#25-Suenami
The fourth of the five elements (Twist, Quake, Fi-rei, The Unwashed, and Suenami.), she has also distanced herself from humanity and her former friends in the Taskforce. She doesn’t see her connection to the water like any of the four. It isn’t a power for good, a tool for genocide or the path to godhood, but something that stops her from ever being close with her husband ever again.
Her connection with her element was strengthened in a failed experiment by Tinky Technicha, and she can no longer keep a solid form. She is forever in a water state, with the only thing keeping her in some semblance of existence is the large Droplet Belt developed by Tinky. Tinky promises to find a way to reverse it, therefore it is assumed she follows Tinky around, but she has been known to disappear to the coastal residence of her ex-husband.
This is the first in the last bunch of characters. I am doing/did all the bios in one night so if I don’t get sketches done I can finish it in some manner. I have a busy couple of days ahead, but I am finishing this in some manner.
#10 Phineas X
Phineas is a little baby that a couple found abandoned next to a forest that had recently been burned down. He is about 2 months old. The couple decided to adopt him, seeing as their children had already grown up, but he began to show some very mysterious traits. They showed him to the mad scientists at the superhero academy in town (yes, the same world as the one in my first character post); fascinated by the baby and seeing potential for him as a superhero raised from birth, the scientists convinced the couple to relinquish him to them. The couple had already named him Phineas, but the scientists added ‘X’ as a last name, representing his unknown factor.
Phineas is a very intelligent baby. The scientists have diagnosed him as having the cognitive function of at least a 4 year old, save for the fact that he doesn’t understand spoken or written language quite yet. He’s tried to mimic their sounds a couple of times but though his mind is advanced, his motor skills are not. This makes him a bit frustrated and as he quickly starts linking words to concepts he awaits the dexterity to be able to speak them. Phineas hates being a baby, but as long as the scientists dote on him, he feels he can manage.
#30 “Silver Shroud”
Universe/Storyline: Quick and Gold Dust
Silver Shroud is a gray wolf that Clay encountered in the wilds on the day the Silver Book came to him. Clay had been absent-mindedly reading aloud from the Silver Book, adjusting to the sound of his rarely used, raspy voice. The lone wolf had been silently stalking him.
The words of the book reached the ears of the wolf, and as he pounced upon Clay, he was transformed into the Silver Guardian: a silvery and translucent ghost of the wolf he had formerly been. He passed right through Clay, unable to touch him.
Unlike Gold Dust and the Lead Shadows, Silver Shroud remains permanently intangible. Unable to touch the world around him, he is the epitome of neutrality. He is still able to teleport, change shape, and phase as the other Guardians do.
The silent guardian watches over Clay, and occasionally teleports to other places to see and be seen, but this is the extent to which he has the power to affect the world. He seems well resigned to his fate, and spends much of his time keeping Clay company while he reads from the Silver Book.
#29 Clay
Universe/Storyline: Quick and Gold Dust
Height: 5’ 9â€
Body Type: Strong once, now aging and growing frail.
Hair: Long for someone his age, gray.
Eyes: Blue-white
Race: White, Texan
Age: 61
Attire: Clay always wears a gray cowboy hat and matching gray vest. Under that he typically wears a collared work shirt with long sleeves. His pants are any of a variety of worn out and stained jeans. The shoes are, of course, cowboy boots (varying colors).
Powers: Clay is the Silver Reader. Like Quick, he woke up one morning with a book on his chest, and discovered he was the only one who could see and read what was written inside. Unlike Quick, Clay does not have any psychic powers, but he does have great wisdom that comes with living alone among nature for many years.
Personality: Clay is a quiet and thoughtful man. He prefers to be a hermit, living only with trees and animals rather than other people. He’s been off the grid for so long, he doesn’t know exactly how old he is for lack of a calendar to keep track of the days.
Every day he’s alive he considers precious; he knows the balance of life and death better having to hunt for the meat he lives off of.
Role in the story: As the Silver Reader, Clay’s role in the story is to promote neutrality by conserving the balance between Lead and Gold. It is written in the Silver Book that lead darkness will take the world unless the golden light is bright enough. Clay’s book also holds many secrets about the other two books, including where they are at any given time.
Gold Dust can meet with Clay only when Quick reads a particular passage to her from the Golden Book that allows her to teleport to his location. Clay is wary to help her at first, since he hasn’t been around people in a long time and seems to have a problem with them. Any help he does give her is only in an effort to restore the balance. He doesn’t want her to close off the flow of shadow completely.
#27 Jetpack Jack
Jetpack Jack is a high flying costumed adventurer who as his name implies gets around with a cool ass jetpack! That’s right! A jetpack! He built the jetpack to win a bar bet and since then he dispenses juicy jetpack justice to evildoers as Jetpack Jack!
G. Brett Williams #27 – Stanford Faraday, The Librarian
The Librarian, better known by the name Stanford Faraday, was a professor of English at a fairly well-to-do university. Â But in his earlier days, when Stanford Faraday was just a lowly graduate assistant spending the majority of his time fetching coffee and hiding in the library, something quite magnificent happened to him. Â While working on site at the library, shelving books and cataloguing titles, Stanford made his way into the deep, dark recesses of the library, into the bowels of the the beast where the university’s most esoteric volumes were stored. Â Once down there, he was attracted to faint glow that seemed to be coming from one of the farthest corners of the collection. Â When he reached the glow, he found a cloth covering a fairly plain piece of flat stone that glowed rather brightly, despite having no discernible light source. Â Upon the stone were etched words in a language so lost to time that Stanford had never before encountered it. Â Overwhelmed by a desire to experience the tactile sensation of holding the object, Stanford Faraday placed his fingertips on the cold, flat face of that stone and found his life inexorably changed. Â He didn’t remember the next few moments. Â All Stanford remembered was finding the stone, then finding himself seated at a desk where he’d previously been working. Â It was as if no time had passed. Â The stone, an ancient relic of unknown origin, was said to have written upon it all the knowledge of the world, from the beginning, to the end.
Stanford felt different after that day. Â His mind was clearer, his thoughts crisper. Â He found that he could predict with some accuracy the weather for the day, could sense moments just before they happened, could find the solution to a problem with more speed than before. Â Pretty soon, he realized that it was the stone, that something must have happened to him when he touched that stone. Â For a bit he used this new found brain power for fun and profit, doing things like making bets at the dog track and the like. Â But Stanford Faraday was a good man and good will out. Â After the campus was hit with a rash of nighttime assaults on female students, Stanford knew it was time to act. Â He studied the patterns, found the pieces of the puzzle the police had missed out on, and soon managed to catch the criminal in the act. Â Of course Stanford Faraday was no fighter, so the act of catching said criminal left something to be desired. Â He would have to become a better weapon if he were going to continue to do this.
Utilizing the heightened powers of his new intellect, Stanford studied boxing, military tactics, the martial arts, survival skills, amazing himself at how quickly he was able to pick up the intricacies necessary to master these skills. Â Before long, he found himself possessed of the necessary tools to fight crime, which he did with great aplomb. Â Until one day something went terribly wrong, and Stanford Faraday, the crimefighter known as The Librarian, hung up his mask for good.
The villainous Dr. Night, the Surgeon of the Shadows, had landed in Stanford’s hometown and was painting his bloody scenes across the streets. Â Never before had Stanford come up against a villain so cunning as Dr. Night, and the ease of his successes as a crimefighter had lulled him into a fall sense of security. Â Stanford was ill-prepared for the Dr. Â Dr. Night managed to confound Stanford at every turn. Â A total of twelve people were killed by the Surgeon of the Shadows before he tired of his dirty business and moved on to warmer climes. Â Stanford never recovered from this failure. Â He retired from crimefighting, went back to his studies, and eventually became a professor of English at the university. Â It was during this time he met his wife, Margaret.
Margaret and Stanford had a very stoic relationship, as the sadness he felt from his failure to save those people from Dr. Night permeated everything he did.  As their relationship grew longer, and his years as a professor collected, his abilities faded.  The trick to the stone’s power was the pursuit of knowledge.  Without a thirst for knowledge, no knowledge would come.  Sure, as a professor Stanford still sought knowledge, and when he did so he found it easier than most to retain it, but the vast computational power of his brain had waned.  He was a sad, complicated man.  So when a young student showed an increasing interest in him, he allowed himself a moment of weakness.  At 42, he was seventeen years the girl’s elder, but her fire and her passion for life, her zest for knowledge, reignited his own.  Suddenly the powers of the stone were evident again and all felt right with the world.  But with all things of this nature, the truth eventually crept out from the shadows and made itself known.  The girl discovered she was pregnant and Stanford came clean to Margaret, who immediately demanded a divorce.  The young student, heartbroken by the tragedy of the whole incident, left the school.  Before she left she told Stanford where she was going and, despite never again desiring to be with the man, always kept him abreast of her location so that he could money for the children; two twin boys she’d named Jackson and Jonathan.
The loss of her swelled inside him, made him ache. Â From this loss, he never recovered. Â His world was a dark place, void of true purpose, until the day she came to him, desperate for help. Â One of his sons, Jackson, had inherited more than just a thirst for knowledge from his father; Â he’d inherited the powers of the stone!
#20 Imalittleteapot-Man
Matt Yerbatski is a high ranking officer of the law and collector of teapots. One particular teapot in his possession just so happens to be imbued with phenomenal cosmic powers. By reciting the not to secret oath, the teapot engulfs Yerbatski forming an impenetrable suit around him, granting him unimaginable strength, the power of flight, and the ability to somehow pour scalding water from his hands when tipped over.
#21 Fe-Male
The wealthy playboy known simply as Ivan is the heir to the Blacktower Defense fortune. Someone as notable as him receives a lot of different threats on a daily basis, some much larger than others. That’s why it helps to have Fe-Male on retainer as his primary bodyguard. While Fe-Male doesn’t make many public appearances, Ivan is happy to speak for & about the mysterious, mechanical stranger. Able to go toe to toe with entire tank battalions, Fe-Male shows not only flight, durability, & energy projection; but also style & finesse, two things Ivan believes are sorely missing among superheroes today. Speaking of things gone missing, the press often finds it strange that Ivan & Fe-Male are rarely ever seen together.
Ivan is fooling no one.

Get it? Periodic Table humor.
The second of the punny-name-making-the-hero ideas I went with. I hated them both but they almost seemed too bad not to use. Can’t take full credit as I saw a philosoraptor meme image with the text “Iron man. Fe Male?” I just ran with the name. I wanted to play it up & go fierce. Instead, I pulled it back a little just to kind of be practical from a battle standpoint. That being said, I’m guessing the exposed skin is far from practical when bullets & laser blasts are flying around. I just figured it’d help sell the idea. I think my favorite thing about any of this is the leaning on the repulsor. Might’ve goofed the feet a little, but I like the pose.
29 – Zhang Li
Despite the widespread use of interstellar comminications, technology is not cheap enough to transfer items securely between distant worlds. Into this niche in the market steps the “Starlight Courier Group” – an expensive but famously reliable group who will send couriers wih your item through space to deliver them to their destinations quickly and securely. They equip their members with powerful space suits with forcefields that allow them to travel at trans-light speeds through space. Zhang Li is the first recruit to be appointed to their new Pluto base – and the first human in the organisation. Given her great powers, she occassionally also partakes in a little superheroic work in her time off.
28 – Rita Jongleur
Rita Jongleur is a 30 year old woman who lives  in Sao Paulo, working as a waitress to support the side profession of a musician at night, but although she is not fully aware of it, she is actually considerably more than this. From a young age people found there to be something utterlyterrfying to their core if they tried to outstare her. She also never got ill or even took any injuries. As she got older, people discovered her music – there is something incredibly hypnotic about it – even playing a known tune there is something about it that prevents people from stopping listening to it. Later there was revealled a strange thing – extra-dimensional threats absolutely ever happened within a hundred mile radius of a certain street in Sao Paulo. After they studied the phenomenom – they realized that it centred upon Rita – and incomprehensibly – this was because she was the human embodiment of the universe, and potentially the most powerful being in the universe. She however remains unaware of this, although she does use her limited powers for good, no one dares let her know of the full extent of her existence for fear that she may begin to use it…
26 – Charcoal
Prior to the recent financial crisis, Charcoal was a minor street vigilante who took down the normal gang members and drug dealers normal for heroes. However, he has recently got the public attention with his sudden change to high profile action against people people deemed to be responsible for or exacerbating the financial problems. Although very unpopular with the police for breaking and entering into the houses of the rich, he contacts the person in question threatening a reveal incriminating information unless they donate almost their entire fortune to charity. If not, he leaks the information to the press. While mainly equipped with just night vision goggles, bodyarmour and a crowbar, even the worlds most experienced spy agencies are currently uncertain as to his true identity.  He has had mercenaries sent after him but beat them senseless to the point of leaving them in intensive care while leaving the corrupt rich fearing they will be next.
25 – Professor Bludskull
In 1989, a shadowy consortium of Evil Scientists in the employ of the Dethskull Mercenary Group decided to try and create the most advanced and intelligent combat robot possible, and the result was Bludskull – super intelligent and trained in the use of dozens of weapons. Unfortunatly for the Evil Scientists, the intelligence proved to be a downside – Bludskull rebelled – not by the traditional robot rebellion means of becoming violent and slaying your creators, but by becoming a pascifist and escaping. Despite his intimidating appearance, he is a complete pascifist and spends his times as a very highly regarded chemist – aided by the fact that unlike human ones he can handle poisonous and radioactive materials easily.
#29: The Cubicle Gremlin
 Real Name: Unknown
Age: Unknown
Height: 3’8
Weight: 175 lbs
Character info: The Cubicle Gremlin is an enemy of the Day 15 Character: The Blue Barrel. The Cubicle Gremlin is a mischevious creature, who hides behind low walls to surprise and attack people. No one knows what his intentions may be, but The Blue Barrel has vowed to stop him!
#29: Mean Apple
He’s also in the Super Apples. He’s kinda mean, but still in the team.
Thanks, Xavier
#31 – The Folded Eye
The Folded Eye – number 31. I wanted to add about 3 or 4 more of these, but a new job started which has kicked into my time, so I’m going to have to bail out at 31.
I’ve been very lucky to have worked with some amazing artists on this challenge, and have had a really great time, thank you all for the kind comments everyone!
I’ll get around to add the other characters some day soon… so keep ’em peeled.
No. 25- The Deafening Silence
Name: The Deafening Silence
Actual Name: Unknown
Age: Unknown (assumed to be in his 20s)
Ethnicity: Unknown
Occupation: Supervillain
Short Background:
The name “the Deafening Silence” is kind of a half truth. People often assume that it means that he is deaf, but he isn’t. He’s mute. This makes him a much better villain than his peers because he never monologues. The name also refers to his ability to mute the sound around him for a distance. It is unknown how far he can stretch this barrier, but some researchers wonder if he is holding back. While he is a competent villain, he is often confused with heroes like Mr. Bat and Knight Moon. Depending on his mood, he may help people when asked or he may rob them.
He is very good at pantomiming which makes him an amazing partner at Charades. He is also very quick at writing notes and keeps a notepad around just in case.
Design:
Looks like a nocturnal hero, but isn’t. Wears black, gray, and white.
No. 26- The Glutton
Name: The Glutton
Actual Name: Stacey Michaels
Age: 39
Occupation: Unemployed/ Former Supervillain
Short Background:
Once upon a time, Stacey was a member of one of the most feared Supervillain Groups, “The Seven Sins”. He lived like a rock star and was on the front page of many newspapers. As the Glutton, Stacey is on top of the world.
Then the group disbanded.
Now, Stacey spends his days living off of his mother. However, when two of his old teammates want to recruit him for one last job, he hopes that it will bring back all of the fame he once had.
Despite being called “The Glutton”, Stacey is actually quite healthy. People assume that he will be a morbidly obese man, but his name is more related to his powers rather than his physical condition.
Stacey was born with the ability to drain the life from other people. At full power, he could kill a room full of people in seconds, but he tries to keep it low. Because of this, Stacey rarely needs to eat or sleep. He uses his power in order to do important things like play WoW and work on his autobiography (though he is only in the first chapter).
From Stacey’s point of view, you can only go up when you’re already at the bottom of the barrel.
If only he knew.
#29 Long-Box
Long-Box is likely the most obnoxious and youngest member of the Collection Agency, always citing continuity errors or asking about validity of an argument by asking if it’s “canon” or not. He disguises himself using the classic Clark Kent Method of putting on a pair of glasses.
#28 Lead Shadows
Universe/Storyline: Quick and Gold Dust
These creatures of darkness vary widely in size, shape, opacity, etc., and, like Gold Dust, they can change their shape at will. In fact, they share many similar powers with the Golden Guardian: they can also phase through walls, generate darkness (as opposed to light), touch someone and make them depressed (as opposed to happy), and increase the weight of objects, including their own bodies. One special power they have is invisibility. The light generated by Gold Dust reveals them when they are hidden.
The Lead Shadows are meant to be the opposite of “light†as represented by the Golden Guardian. As such, they are dark, and also heavy, both opposites of light. They can make themselves heavy enough to crush, while Gold Dust can only make herself light. They are destroyers, while Gold Dust only has the power to destroy them. One interesting aspect of the Lead Shadows is their ability to weigh down a person’s spirit, causing them to sink into a depression. Gold Dust can counter this with a simple touch.
No one is sure exactly where the shadows come from, but it is written in the Golden Book that somewhere in the world is a Leaden Book from which the shadows are generated. It is Quick and Gold Dust’s quest to find the book and close it forever.
#27 “Gold Dust” Serena Powell
Universe/Storyline: Quick and Gold Dust
Height: 5’ 3â€
Body Type: Flat chest, stubby fingers, but otherwise your average teenage girl.
Hair: Deep, dark black. The kind of black you only get with dye. It sweeps across her forehead in angry bangs, and flies out from behind her head.
Eyes: Hazel. Always turned down critically, giving her the “angry teen†look.
Race: White
Age: 10th grader
Attire: Mostly dark colors. Long sleeves and long pants. Likes gray jeans. Wears a gold locket under her shirt. Likes boots and Converse All-Stars.
Powers: Serena herself has no powers, but whenever Quick opens the Golden Book, she instantly becomes the Golden Guardian. As the Golden Guardian, Serena is made completely out of shiny gold dust. She can change shape, generate light (later, enough to blind or burn), teleport (move at the speed of light), phase through walls, or make certain objects lighter than air. She can also touch people and make them happy, specifically if those people have been darkened by Lead Shadows. All of these powers come to her with time, as Quick reads more of the Golden Book.
Personality: Serena is as tough as nails, at times even mean. She has few friends, and no siblings. She is very smart, and enjoys exchanging trivia with Quick. Her friendship with Quick has really helped her to open up as a person. Before she was something of a bully, but now she enjoys helping people. Bullying was her way of defending herself from similar torments that she endured when she was younger. She hates her name because it makes her sound like a popular girl.
Role in the story: As Golden Guardian, Serena automatically teleports to Quick’s side whenever he opens the Golden Book. She uses her powers to fight off Lead Shadows who want to close the Golden Book, or kill Quick, its Reader. As her alter-ego, Serena, she is a high school girl searching for her place in the grand scheme of ‘normal life’. Quick is pretty much her only friend at the beginning of the story.
Her goal is to go with Quick to find the source of the Lead Shadows and stop them from being created/released upon the world.
#30Characters Chatter…
