E04 – Reiner
Still a whole day behind!! But here is the first dude I’ve drawn of the challenge so there is that. I kinda rushed a tiny bit through this one in spots haha, but I had fun drawing him.
day 5- Loralie the Witch
So for today’s viewing pleasure we have Loralie the Witch. I’m not sure why I made her aqua, but I have a feeling its from all the magic she uses tainting her skin *shrugs*. I had fun making a non-gruesome witch.
#4 Leaves
Leaves is a pile of leaves who can change it´s shape according to it´s mood or destination.
Here we have some of it´s forms. The form of a woman was to visit cities and get near humans as Leaves find them interesting.
The dragon like shape is when Leaves get into a tornado (no matter the size of said tornado).
Have fun!
=^.^=
Day 3 – Orion Azure
Kinda bummed that I haven’t been able to colour these, but that’s what full time work does to a person ^^;
Anywho, continuing on with the theme of humanized electronic devices, this is Orion Azure. He’s a well-known commentator and socialite who dabbles in photography and astronomy in his spare time. He will often have a clear plastic umbrella when it’s raining.
E03- Karma
Lagging behind here. Anyway, will try and do day 4 and 5 tomorrow (or I guess its technically today now where I am)!!
Some sort of space alien chameleon assassin lady, she does her job well.
004 – Michelle Nguyen
She found a new purpose in her life when she developed superpowers. Â Now she’s a superhero-in-training looking ways to balance her new life with her current.
E02: Agatha
Day 2, another black and white one due to the weather still being awful here and it really messes with my head when it can’t make up its mind. I might just do each day in black and white though and colour them once the challenge is over, it certainly is less time consuming.
001 – Serenitatem
Her name is “Serenity” in Latin. Â She is a celestial guardian who has a family on earth. Â From time to time, when allowed, she visits her human husband and half mortal son. Â Note: the picture does show one wing, but she does have a complete pair (just didn’t draw the other one to include information on the page.)
E01: Marina
Kept it fairly safe for me today. Originally I had planned on colouring this but no scheme I was coming up with was working (I was trying to avoid making her armour red)! I’ll colour this eventually though once I figure out what I want to go with.
Day 1 – Plasmama
Plasmama had both a normal childhood and a normal teenage life, until the day she lost both of her arms in an accident she doesn’t talk about. Not wanting to spend the rest of her life without arms, she had a pair of plasma ones built for her instead. She can change the shape of them at will, and can even make them relatively normal if she wants. Of course, when she’s out fighting crime she prefers something a little more intimidating..
(Had fun with her proportions, wanted to make her super curvy and a little psychotic looking. I started colouring her, but wasn’t happy with it so I fixed up the lineart instead)
2013 Challenger: Vernon Robinson
Hi all!!!
As a child, since age 3, I have been surrounded by the arts. But as I got older, I have dedicated my skills to drawing and illustrating. Basically starting honing my skills with Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing, Cowboy Bebop, Disney, Power Rangers, and Video Game characters, even with Mangas and Comics.
Throughout the years, I have been proving to myself that I am indeed a talented artist, whether it was Anime, Cartoons or Video Games.
Right now, I am currently working on a project I call, Dark Alliance. I have written and transformed it into a fanfic, consisting of myself and some friends, with Japanese Visual Kei bands and musicians. I’ve gotten pretty creative with it. The site that I featured them on, multiply.com, was closed as of May 31, 2013 and transferred over to the Philippines and specifically for Indonesia. Luckily, I still have every single piece of work, including the original, in my possession. I am, in the process of finally, drawing out the characters and will most likely feature Squad Zero of the Dark Alliance in the 2013 Annual 30 Character Challenge, alongside other illustrations.
My style consists more of going off of the features of a human and turning them into that of an anime or a cartoon character. I am one for paying ATTENTION TO DETAIL!!! Lol…
I’m rambling now, so I guess I’ll bring this introduction to a close and say goodluck to everyone.
This is Vernon Robinson, signing out!!
#11 Sphynx
In the teeming metropolis of New Hudson, one hears about the courier known as Sphynx. She’s a knockout when it comes to looks, athletic, and can get any info to a client on time, no matter what. Plus, she’s skilled in martial arts and if all else fails, she’s got a modified pistol that can fire a “shockburst” that can disable any opponent (she does not kill, and as far as anyone knows, Sphynx has never taken a life).
Detective Gary Del’Arco knows about Sphynx, and he knows her real name, her shoe size, and even what her favorite type of pizza is. That’s because Gary is involved in a passionate relationship with Sphynx, whose real name is Laura Margolis. Because of an incident in her past, Laura took up the role of a free-running courier, and courier and detective met because of a major case that ended with Gary solving it and discovering the identity of the killer of one of Laura’s friends. That last revelation ended up with Gary saving her life and facing the ugly truth about corruption in the New Hudson Police Department.
Gary and Laura are in love and do care about each other, and they also exchange secrets (while keeping their own relationship secret). Both of them worry about how long it will last, but for now, they are certainly the most unusual–and most unlikely–couple living in New Hudson.
And the last one…
This challenge was very fun! I’m so glad to participate and regain some of my old skills. It’s been great to make differents characters as I see others people’s style. Thanks for all your comments and see you next year!… 🙂
#30 Ou Mai
The highest ranking Ou child to wear a gold robe, 16 year-old Ou Mai has worked hard for her position. Her robe ensures her the power to pass minor tax laws, arrest anyone, go wherever she chooses, stand in for officials, and much more. Needless to say, Mai is a tireless worker who is in love with her duties. But far from being stuck up, she is very relaxed and personable. Â She is, however, strangely interested in wagons and wheelbarrows, and she has drawn quite a few of them.
#29 Ou Wao
An Ou male with hair? Surely, how could this exist? Ou males shave their heads when they begin to mature mentally and act like well-brought up children. Not to insult a child of the Ou family, but Prince Ou Wao is not very smart. There’s nothing mentally wrong with him, he’s just kind of unintelligent. Wao also says whats on his mind, prefers to play with his food rather than eat it, and can’t sit still for long. Despite being 10, when most Ou children being to straighten out, Wao is still unremarkable in his sophistication. Â His parent’s have not given up on him, however, because there is a glimmer of hope in him. Calligraphy takes patience, grace, and serenity to master, and at his very young age, Ou Wao already has calligraphy to rival that the most impressive scribe. Even if he didn’t have this impressive talent, he is still a very earnest and forgiving person, and unlike most Ou, he is not particularly arrogant, if at all.
#28 Ou No
One of the many Ou Children, Princess Ou No, 17, is one of the younger ones to achieve some degree of power. Gold and yellow colors are symbols of the Ou family’s power, and though she’s not wearing much, the Ao Liese can tell she has quiet a bit of power to dispose of. Being loud, opinionated, and arrogant like her brother Ou Ju, she has a reputation for abusing her ability to instantly have people thrown in jail. No also have the ability to make people do whatever she wants, but as No is not a people person, she’s never around enough people to abuse this power often. She does have a soft spot for paintings and sculptures, and when she’s not in the castle, she is looking at art around town.
#27 Yujote Kuma
Based on the old job of women sewing and buying clothes, a southern Nippon tradition is for women, on the 10th day on the 5th month, to give possible husbands a well-tailored and comfortable non-like kimono in an attempt to open contact between the two; the gesture is meant to say, “In a marriage between us, I will keep you comfortable.” The calligrapher Yujote Kuma had received a number of them every year on this day. On the 20th of the same month, men are supposed to deliver food to possible wives, preferably the one that sent them the kimono, as if to say, “In a marriage between us, you will not go hungry.” Kuma never responded to any of the advances on him, instead studying Harayin characters and perfecting his style. It is clear he wasn’t the culprit, but many, including his younger sisters, have died around him, causing his outlook to be bleak and melancholy. He was, however, sympathetic towards the deathly ill. Once, he traveled to a dying young girl’s home to keep her company during the last of her illness. She lived alone and was said not to pass on until Kuma stayed with her; when asked, Kuma would sadly say, “She couldn’t die alone.” It’s said that one of Huang Mu’s forms is based on the appearance of Yujote Kuma.
Characters 21-30/30 (Mission Complete!!)
21/30 – Amelia. She’s a ghost!
22/30 – Blech. Another WTF creature.
23/30 – Righteous Slaughter. A true founding father of this great nation.
24/30 – Avenging Pequot Warrior. In honor of the 700 massacred Pequot Native Americans.
25/30 – Slugger. He punches things. In space.
26/30 – Fluffy the Pirate. Named after one of my PAX Enforcer brothers, I mostly just wanted to draw a pirate with a Lemmy.
27/30 – Artslinger. This is the front turnaround for another contest, but I drew it in November, so whatever. Think having powers like Green Lantern, but through art supplies.
28/30 – The Scholar. Ended up looking like Gordon Freeman. Unintentional.
29/30 – Tengu. I didn’t draw any anthropomorphic creatures for this thing. Not my bag, really. Still, gotta cover all the bases.
30/30 – s133pDEAD! Okay, so it’s kind of a cop out, but I’m super stoked to have completed this challenge and also my beard deserves to be immortalized!
#26 Bao Zaeyon
In eastern Xiu Janyang Province, the number of delivery persons exceeds those of delivery personnel in the other two lands, and Bao Zaeyon is one of the Province’s massive workforce. Zaeyon delivers books to her area of the neighborhood. Even though she doesn’t make much money, she loves her job. Zaeyon grew up in a traditional Ao Liese household that taught her reading and history before she went to school to learn these things in detail. Now as an energetic young woman, she loves to read books about the Ao Liese nation and books that have strong traditional themes running through them. In fact, she’s not averse to sometimes reading the books she delivers.
#25 Shenyang Jun
Shenyang Jun is the son of the famous Shenyang Er. His father wrote one of Ao Lai’s bestselling books, Genha Shi Tuse, or Red White Blue when translated from Harayin, a story about a Nippon woman brought up on traditions who travels to America and meets an Americanized Nippon woman. Like his father before him, Shenyang Jun is a writer or good works, but unlike his father before him, he is not a lover of America. Jun is more reserved and uptight than his father, and he finds America too disorganized and violent. Despite being somewhat stuck up, he isn’t a stick in the mud; he does enjoy a laugh, and he is known for buying his wife very expensive gifts. His books are more on the side of the cautionary tale; he writes with much more palatable message than his father’s fish-out-of-water and character study stories. Acclaimed as a response to Genha Shi Tuse, Facaotsa Kin, or Golden Spring on the Mainland, was about a mainland Ao Liese woman whose life slowly fell apart due to her relationship with an American man.
