#30 Allie
Poor little Allie doesn’t quite get the ramifications of being a vampire. She has been a vampire for centuries, but her mental age is stuck at the level of a six year old. Except for the fangs and corpse-like pallor, you’d never know that she was anything but a normal six year old girl…that is, until she gets hungry.
#30 Aliborg
A hideous combination of man, machine and aligator! He also hosts a cooking show “Sewer Cookin'”, which has millions of viewers.
Characters 10-20/30
10/30 – Roxie the Racer Queen. Figured on some Mad Max post-apocalyptic type thing. I wanted to draw a squished up minibike, like Akira Toriyama would back in the day.
11/30 – Funcrusher Plus. Upgrade on Funcrusher, the 2.0 if you will. It was inevitable.
12/30 – Razorblade Romantic. Another character based off a memorable album title (HIM’s Razorblade Romance). Mostly, I just wanted to draw a dude with a pompadour and a razorblade.
13/30 – The Blind Boxer. This was the last one I’d done after a very long night, kinda copped out with a quick brush pen illustration. Blind Shaolin fighter.
14/30 – Clean-Up. After some lazy submissions, felt like doing some detail work on this one.
15/30 – Det. Robert Booker. Straight laced, no nonsense cop.
16/30 – Piggy Pig. Booker’s partner. Name’s how the criminal element in town refer to him.
17/30 – The Persistent Hunter. Undead cowboy bounty hunter.
18/30 – The Hermit. Wizened old ninja master hermit type.
19/30 – Grimace the Goblin. Another late night cop out.
20/30 – Riot Grrl. DIY vigilante heroine protecting her city.
DAY TWENTY-NINE – Saint Dymphna
From The Clone Saints Chronicles: While problems with the cloning process are not uncommon, the tenacity of Saint Dymphna‘s insanity-inducing abilities has convinced many of my colleagues that we should abandon this particular matrix and try one with a more real-world applications, like Saint Joseph. I can’t imagine anything more dreadfully boring. Let my critics say what they will, Dymphna will prove to them the benefit of letting go once in a while.
#29 Emmie Mae
Each time Emmie Mae has been married her husband has been found dead the morning after the wedding night. Suspicion would fall on Emmie Mae herself if not for the fact that the men have been ripped to shreds as if a wild animal had done it. And the authorities have checked, Emmie Mae has no claws. You would think this would stop men from trying to marry her, but it hasn’t. Probably due to her vast fortune. I guess some guys think the reward is worth the risk.
#26 – Anthony Gates
Every high-powered businessman needs a good personal assistant, someone who helps them sort the chaos going on around them into neat, easy-to-manage packages. Anthony Gates has spent the last two years working as a personal assistant, although his job is a bit different than most.
Anthony’s boss is Death.
Anthony Gates died two years ago at the age of 24, the victim of a car crash that claimed his life and the life of his girlfriend, Jennifer. However, upon his death, Anthony found himself stunned to wake up, sitting at a cafe with a gaunt, impeccably dressed man sipping an espresso.
Introducing himself as Thanatos, the man calmly explained, as Anthony sat dumbfounded, that he was the incarnation of death, and had been since the beginning of existence. However, he had grown increasingly fond of walking with humans in the years since, watching them live their lives and go about their business, and had begun to delegate the business of collecting souls and sending them to their various eternal rewards, damnations, or whatever other outcome to various surrogates, but that the work sucks away at his free time. Thus he needs a personal assistant to help him catalog the dead, organize and direct his surrogates, and generally keep the organization running smoothly. He also intimated to Anthony that his afterlife might not be everything he hoped for, while he could offer eternal life on earth, albeit a unseen one.
Anthony accepted, and now lives the life of Death’s harried assistant. The job, to his dismay, is quite literally, 24/7, with no respite. Combined with Death’s own high-rolling lifestyle, and Anthony can’t remember the last time he had a entire day to himself.
Anthony was a pretty good-humored, straitlaced kid growing up, and did pretty well in college, but nothing has prepared him for this life. Now, he exists with Death in a place “between†worlds, seen but not noticed, capable of interacting with reality but unable to leave any lasting impact. He is harried, stressed, and continually sounds like he’s on the verge of quitting, but in truth, loves the job. Anthony was a sucker for the supernatural as a child, and here he is, working for Death itself, even if that means flying to Macau at the drop of a hat because “there’s a fat businessman here who’s going to kick it this weekend but not before you help me beat his ass at Texas Hold’em.â€
Anthony finds Death a unpredictable, but loyal employer. In the last hundred years, Death has given himself over to enjoying all the wild spectacle humanity has to offer. He is a enormous fan of casinos, soccer and haute cuisine. Death can be petty when it comes to little things, and has absolutely no qualms about violating some basic human values, which he sees as largely irrelevant to him. For all of that however, Death is deeply serious about his role, and takes its proper purpose seriously, even if it doesn’t seem like it at times. He brings a depth of compassion to his work that frequently goes unseen under his more sarcastic veneer.
20 – Skaaven TombRat
A creature born in filth, no creature is more craven nor cunning than the Skaaven, the rat folk. Perpetually locked in a war with an almost as cruel but definitely more vicious race, the Kobold, most Skaaven know only this war, and their hold on the northern lands, including Oberon’s Land, was long ago loat to their rivals.
All, save a small tribe of rat- folk in the Thunder Rift- the TombRats. They long ago forgot their race’s feud, their goal as all- encompassing as it is surprising- the TombRats dwell in the cursed catacombs and haunted barrows of the Thayatin settlers, a dangerous place to call home for the living. And that’s what the TombRats do best.
They hunt Vampires.
#22 Frosty The Necro-Snowmancer
There must have been some dark magic in that old silk hat they found… Building a better winter season one undead snowman at a time.
#26 MOLTEN MONSTER
A possible creature to battle our hero Z-Girl, seen here in mid fight with her trusty ZOMBOTâ„¢ by her side! Wish them luck!
DAY TWENTY-EIGHT – Saint John of Cupertino
From The Clone Saints Chronicles: With Saint Joseph of Cupertino, we tried to remove the “slow” traits he was noted for during his first life, but results were… horrific. Ultimately, this Joseph is not too different form his progenitor: prone to bouts of ecstasy and levitation. However, this incarnation gets more joy from his teddy bear and Snickers bars than visits from the Pope.

Day Twenty-Seven, Saint Marthe Robin, Supermodel
From The Clone Saints Chronicles: Saint Marthe Robin is less interested in the betterment of humanity than she is being worshiped and dressing well. In her previous life, she subsisted only on the Holy Eucharist for fifty bed-ridden years, and now she walks the runways of Paris and Milan, a highly sought-after model. Let her. Eventually, she’ll come back to us. For her life-giving shots, if nothing else.
#24 STABATHA
Alien? Monster creation? Mystical? No idea. I could see her battling it out in some ancient ruins with Z-Girl for sure.
#15 Ralph MacDonald
Ralph couldn’t remember how he ended up in the middle of the woods, nor could he explain where his clothes went. Last night was a complete blur.
#13 Ethereal Frost Giant
The Ethereal Frost Giant awaits the day when The Veil that separates realities wears thin enough to cross.
#27 – Rosebud Juarez
Ghost ecologist. Spirit hunter. Will help your relatives’ souls to rest for a modest fee. To fund her research, you understand. She shakes her head. You clearly don’t understand.
Former anthropology student and sometime librarian, raised by her curandera grandmother. When she was 15, she sustained a wound trying to stop a fight. Instead of healing normally, it turned out to be a conduit to an otherworldly source of power. She tried to hide it, but her abuela found out and sent her to learn with some strange folks known only as Los que Saben (Those Who Know). Has been known to cross paths with Circus Proxima. A fan of King Lonesome.
“The dead are all around us. they have their own culture, society, and — most importantly — their own ecology. It must be managed. I have studied how to do this. the balance must be held, and I can make it so.”
#16 & #17 Peanut & Rasmussen: IWF Tag Team Champions
While they may be a bit more unconventional than other pairings, the gruesome twosome of Peanut & Rasmussen have held the Infernal Wrestling Federation’s Tag Team Championship belts longer than any other competitors. The two were born to compete together, quite literally. While in the womb, Peanut (the hulking brute) tried to absorb his twin brother Rasmussen (the brains & horns of the operation), but Rasmussen proved to be a little too resilient.
Now, the two function as one unit, with the impish brother able to disappear & reappear at will anywhere along the other brother’s brutish frame. In the ring, this leads to a multitude of diabolic double team situations, not to mention the occasional, well-calculated eye gouge, low blow, or even horn poke when the ref isn’t looking. None of the other teams in the company can stop them. The only thing that might bring about their downfall is their general dysfunction, as the two constantly bicker & argue.
Oh, & maybe Rasmussen’s rampant drug problem out of the ring, which concerns Peanut greatly.

Now you may look at this & be like “Really? Two characters? I think you’re just trying to get two characters out of this just so you can reach 30!” And you know what, you’d be right. Sue me. Originally, it was just the one guy. I wanted to make a wrestler but felt it needed to be more than just a wrestler, so I made him this kind of monster like dude as well: Hooray, monster wrestler. But as I started drawing him I thought “What if he’s so badass he’s World Champion AND World Tag Team Champ on his own? Or what if he’s like Master Blaster from Thunderdome? Or what if his partner was attached?” That somehow became, the partner swims through him where he’s needed & that’s how they’re tag team champs. The sledgehammer is a nod to Triple H, though retrospectively, probably pretty ineffective in a world of monster wrestling. Still I kept it in because I thought it was pretty good at establishing scale. I kept having issues with the skin tone but I’m pretty happy with the final result. Originally, I was trying different variations of dark grey but it kept blending in with the pants.
Day 27: The Risen Grave
Some say that Old Saint Oliver’s Cemetary holds the most powerful spirits in the New World. Reports can’t count the number of witnesses who have heard voices among the graves or seen flashes of strange movement at night. But when the ghosts get really riled up and are rallied by the powerful soul of a forgotten hero, the earth itself becomes possessed, rises up on two powerful legs, and sometimes even leaves the burial grounds to haunt the city and right wrongs.Â
16 – Xaldar the Night Serpent
Xaldar is the progeny of Dendar, the original Night Serpent. How she gave birth, given the fact that she is the Queen of Nightmares (and the only one of her kind) has beings all across the multiverse terrified and puzzled. Xaldar is a manipulator of desires, who speaks in dreams and trances, but seeks for freedom in the world of the living, much like his ancient and devious mother. For her part, Dendar, who has destroyed both the planar naive and the champions of the Astral realm, and ultimately seeks freedom from the Beyond as well – seems to be almost proud of her son, matronly and advising, if not bullying and cruel.
In this age of ‘end of the world’ prophecies coming to light, this one was not supposed to be Dendar’s fate- She was to be the Eater of the World, Leviathan, the Great Destroyer, in the faith of the Chultish and the Chulquean.
She was not supposed be the Virgin Mother…
