#15 – Ted Bacon
The final member of Clair’s team, Mr. Bacon is the only real professional anything in the group; a professional photographer. A naturally sarcastic and taciturn skeptic, his contribution to the team usually comes in the form of terse explanations of photographic artifacts. His lack of interest in the paranormal is offset by the rather large amount of money Clair is paying him, but nothing in the world could offset his sheer lack of people skills.
Day 11 – Rainbow Lizard
The Rainbow Lizard is about 3 feet tall. It has a mesmerizing gaze and iridescent skin that shifts hypnotically through the color spectrum, putting its’ victims into a stupor. It then expels a hallucinogenic/neuroparalyzing toxic compound through its’ tongue and skin that renders the victim inert, allowing the Rainbow Lizard to slowly digest the hapless meal in its’ expandable paunch. There is no known antidote for its’ poisons.
#13 – Bandit
Why would the resurrected spirit of a wild west bank robber… with a skull for a head… need a mask?
#14 – Alex Lorentz
Every group of paranormal investigators needs someone techy to run the EMF meters and play back their static to find EVPs. For Clair’s group, that someone is Alex Lorentz. A very enthusiastic young man with a homegrown expertise in electronics, Alex has a practical understanding of how the scientific instrumentation he carries around actually works, but a very limited ability to interpret those findings. Of course, that makes him a perfect fit for a paranormal group, where every blip on the infrared camera is a ghost until proven otherwise.
#7 – Garbage Gnome
The Garbage Gnome. Carefully nurtures the maggots, stench, and ooze in your garbage. Everyone’s got a thing.
012 – Mélanie Amyot
This young lady’s the “protagonist” from this recent set of characters (007-012). Â She made a deal with the devil and taking revenge on those that ended her life.
#13 – Claire LaGanne
Eldest daughter of one of the richest and most eccentric families in the city, Claire is a self-appointed Paranormal Researcher, determined to find scientific proof of the undead. She has no training in any kind of science, doesn’t really know what would constitute “scientific proof,†and tends to leap to conclusions at a moment’s notice, but what she does have is the massive inheritance she received after the flood.
Day 12 Lord Contagion
Lord Clarion had an extreme interest in micro sciences- molecular science, microbiology, light particles, etc. As part of his research, Lord Clarion gathered dust from ancient tombs, meteors, hospitals and trash heaps to examine what was happening at the smallest of observable levels. Somewhere along the line, the dust from one of these odd locals contaminated and changed his body. Lord Clarion can spontaneously turn into Lord Contagion, a hideous creature covered in small sores that turn a luminescent blue before releasing spores that cause a variety of horrid and ghastly infections and ways to die. Lord Contagion is happy in his research, now getting to observe the random actions of the spores that come from his body and ill others.
#6 Butch The Butler
Monarch is nothing without a good butler. Butch is one, even though his taste for slippers is a bit, lets say, strange?
2013 Challenge: Day 13- :BRIK
BRIK is sort of an urban Golem, formed from the decaying tenements of the inner city. An embodiment of the hopes, dreams and fears of those who lived there.
#13 The Oigilan
The Oigilan are horrid little creatures that gestate in plant pots and on maturity leap out and attack family pets and then flee leaving your cat or dog lying in a pile of potting mix and your favourite fern strewn across the living room.
Truly horrible creatures.
#12 – Hunt
The most important factor when it comes to determining the sheer strength of a spirit is a sense of purpose. Those undead with the greatest sense of unfulfilled duty stick around longer, have greater strength, and have more dangerous abilities than those shades who simply stick around because they lack awareness with regards to their own death.
Though no one quite knows what the Hunt was in life, its sense of purpose is undeniable. Stalking the allies and crowded dark places of the city, the Hunt will track its prey night after night, staying just out of sight, feeding on the terror of whatever unfortunate minor it discovers. Though no one knows what specific end awaits the children who are subjected to the Hunt’s attention, the initial attraction is said to be very strong emotion.
2013 Challenge: Day 12- :Degenerat
Another monster character, which should come as a surprise to no one who knows me even a little. 🙂
#12 Baron Karsa the mad scientist
Whilst technically qualifying as a mad scientist Baron Karsa is pretty much the worst one there is, he’s forgetful, sloppy and not actually that mad truth be told. Â His parents were both mad scientists and wanted him to follow in their footsteps… Karsa kind of stumbled in their footsteps.
#11 – Amy
A developing interest in the paranormal has always been a good excuse for teenagers to re-invent themselves, and when a freak flood wipes out half of your city, it shouldn’t be a shock that interest in the dead increases.
For Amy, though, things are a little different. The disaster left her so incomprehensibly angry that a simple reinvention wasn’t nearly enough. With the infinite bloody-mindedness of a teenager, Amy searches for a way to trap the dead. Though many people came to the city hoping to find ghostly evidence, none of them have her determination and simple stubbornness. The only question is what happens when she succeeds.
011 – Mr. Liam and Spes
This is the big boss of the Underworld, who for now goes under the name, Mr. Liam. Â Time to time, he takes care of Spes (similar to Ouji and Ringo from Casshern Sins). Â She never shows up at the office and only communicates with Mr. Liam.
#5: Papa Doc’s Zombie
This unfortunate individual is the zombie bodyguard of the Haitian gangster Papa Doc (day 4). He’s not your decaying brain eating variety like in The Walking Dead, but the more traditional type of Haitian and African legend. His real name is unknown but some say he was a client of Doc’s who was unable to repay his loan.
#4: Papa Doc
Papa Doc is a Haitian Bokor or sorcerer what some would call a witch doctor. Since his arrival in Alternative City he’s made a name for himself in the underworld as a loan shark and as someone you would go to if you wanted an enemy “taken care of”. Despite his small stature Papa Doc is feared by most people in the community. Partly because of superstition and partly because he usually travels with a seven foot zombie that he created, and no one wants to end up like that poor doomed soul.
2013 Challenge: Day 11- :DeathBat
Passing the Day 10 on the challenge, and things are getting a little spooky…
In case you’re interested, there’s also a process video coming soon for this one on my channel.
010 – Apate
She’s the current receptionist of the Underworld. Â A very festive lady who tends to have fun with those waiting in line.
009 – Thanatos
A very polite young man who’s also a manifestation of Death. Â He’s the brother to Nemesis.
#11 Felix Mueller – the man who refused to die
Felix Mueller was the leading scientist in bio mechanical developments, his speciality was bridging the brain with mechanical devices in the hopes of producing faster and better computing interfaces. Â He discovered that he was dying from a rare condition that ravaged his body. With technology still years away from furnishing him with a mechanical body that he might move around and resume his research he opted for the crude mechanics of his time and built a rig to keep his brain alive.
Once inside his new prison Felix became quite insane, unable to regulate or control his biochemistry it ran wild throwing him into fits of insane anger and then outlandish joy. Â Eventually his assistants pack him up and placed him on a shelf with his volume turned right down where he could watch over them without disturbing them.
He spent many an afternoon with a tea towel  draped over his head…

I really loved this piece so I popped it up on my Society6 page (a woefully maintained account)
#10 – Detritus
When water is caught in a small, boxy space, it tends to form whirlpools. After the flood, an unusually high number of bodies were recovered from spiral clumps of mud that collected where bus stops once stood.
