#13 – Mourning Dove

| November 13, 2012 | 0 Comments

Mourning Dove is a Mi’kmaq (aka Micmac) medicine woman who works with the RCMP to solve cases with a supernatural element.  More then a naturalistic healer,  she knows real magic and uses it to protect the land from forces that wish to destroy it and its people.  She distrusts non-natives but is willing to work with them for the greater good.

#12 – King Lonesome

| November 13, 2012 | 0 Comments

Aside from playin blues that would break the heart of the devil himself, and preaching a mighty fine, if not quite theologically proper, sermon from time to time, he’s a rambling hoodoo man of sorts, with a habit of hunting down “the things that cause them cries of woe, them unseen things that just shouldn’t be so”.

But he rebuffs anyone’s attempt to deter him from this path, or who would make him a professional and tie him to the treasures of this world. “Don’t you worry ’bout ol’ King Lonesome. I’m bound to wander these four corners of the earth ’til I meet that Man of Sorrows, and either I strikes him or he strikes me.”

Til then, he’s got his guitar, The Psalmist, and his song, “Justine”, in which is encoded the essence of his wife and true love, a former voodoo queen of New Orleans. The Psalmist was taken apart and rebuilt during a ritual that involved lining it with the pages of the bible, specifically Ephesians 6:10-18 dealing with the armor of God, and of course, a full complement of Psalms. There’s only one known recording of King Lonesome singing “Justine” — sold only at B.T. Dubs’ Incidentals and Curiousities– but once you hear Lonesome sing her to life, she’ll be in your heart forever.

DAY TWELVE – The Infanta

| November 12, 2012 | 0 Comments

NAME: The Infanta

The Infanta -technically, an Infanta- is a prince or princess of the Underworld, the reincarnation of a soul sacrificed to Moloch in the Valley of Hinnom. Is the soul still innocent and pure, or has it been traumatized by the knife and the fire? By the time we know, it’s way past time to do anything about it.

| November 12, 2012 | 0 Comments

Post#11 — Tiamat: Is the chief villian in a series of characters I call ” The Cosmic Fire Action Heroes”. Why call them the “action heroes”? Because the title “Power Rangers” is already taken. Right, I have my own Power Rangers team… well, Action Heroes. 😉

Tiamat is a cosmic creature of chaos. She was known to the anceint peopele of Sumer (present day Iraq) as the chaos dragon and mother to monsters. At the dawn of history she, her consort Absu , and her monsterous children tried to take over this world, destroying all sense of order and sanity. The records of Sumer say these monsters were cast out, and that it was the ancient gods of Sumer that did it. However it was done, Sumer and her monster children are back to finish what they did the first time — total subjectation of our world.

Tiamat, the Chaos Dragon, has an uncountable number of tentacles. Some are for grasping and moving, and others have heads attached their ends. If Tiamat need a new child/monster to do her bidding, she only has to place a head on the ground, and that head will grow a body. Once fully formed, the head and body detach from the mother tentacle and walk freely of it own will. Each  monster child  has its own powers and abilities. These beings are then sent out into the world to destroy and kill as Tiamat commands.

And when a threat to world arises, heroes stand forward to fight the evil and aid the weak. In this time of need come the Cosmic Fire Action Heroes. Each hero is enpowered with the mystic spirit from the natural world, complete with weapons to aid them. Also, each has a giant transforming robot in battles with extremely large threats.

More forces of Good and Evil will appear in upcoming posts.

[Side note: For those that have been following my posts so far — my apologies. I’ve started three different series of characters (Chrono Tigers, Foxy and the Toon Agents, and now the Cosmic Fire Action Heroes) and have so far been mixing them all up. My original plan was to go through each series in turn. But, time and scheduling have screwed me up so that I have put whatever material I have onhand in these posts in order to keep up. Hopefully Some sanity will be coming soon. ]

Day Eight: Rum-Ram Bloodstold

| November 12, 2012 | 0 Comments

Tired old man, tired old Bloodstold, in his throne of imitation leather and sipping a glass of tonic and lemon because he’s all out of gin. His runes are all cast, his deceitfully youthful body ached more and more as the nights when he can get a rise out of his magiks became increasingly few and depressingly mundane.  Rum-Ram Bloodstold, the last of his kind in this world to not have given up and departed for the old soul’s dimension, took another sip of his tart drink and fondled thoughts of when the tarts he had at night weren’t just the liquid or pastry variety.
One more sip, Rum-Ram decided, one more sip and then a slip — into sober sleep.

DAY ELEVEN – Tabernacle

| November 11, 2012 | 0 Comments

NAME: Tabernacle

Tabernacle is an angelic being who carries within itself a single spark cast from God’s fiery body. Its purpose is to make itself known to one person at a time and, if the person is willing, enter his or her body. In exchange, the host receives knowledge and power. Tabernacle makes no attempt to guide its host to make “morally upstanding” choices, rather allowing the person to decide how to use his or her revelation best.

8 – Remorhazan Elder

| November 11, 2012 | 3 Comments

The Remorhaz is a brute of a monster, an insect-like behemoth that generates intense heat through it’s blood and hunts the arctic wastes of the far north Cruth. They are on the decline- hunted and destroyed for the danger it represents. But deep beneath the iron ice of the Chillvault Glaciers, the real Remorhaz still exist- a race more advanced than the hapless suface dwellers know of, and far more dangerous. Once the Drow Houses and the Dwarven Strongholds of the north Cruth found out about them, and forged a pact- the first of it’s kind- to purge the world of the only clutch known of the Remorhazans, a mere two dozen in number.

Before word could be sent to any of the colonies of the southern lands, and in terrible allignment to the coming of the crippling Rain of Blue Fire, which rendered the attackers without magical aid, the Remorhazans were assaulted in their cavern by the elite of the Drow and the hardiest of the HammerMarch, hundreds upon hundreds of warriors and wardancers.

The retaliation was immediate and explosive. Each 20 feet tall and as strong as rock, capable of immense acts of agility and possessing obsidian claws, molten innards and deceptively large brains, the small tribe of Remorhazans slaughtered the armies and pursued the routed back to their homes and strongholds.

To this day, the miles upon miles of the north Cruth nearest the ChillVault Glaciers lay uninhabited,  ruins haunted and scorched, a testament to the might of the Remorhazan Elders.

#8 Zoraida

An evil spirit in the body of a murdered woman…

Candy Rain wasn’t her real name, but that was the name she had been “dancing” under just 3 hours before she was abducted, and then ritually scarified.  She was revived with the spirit of an ages dead evil sorceress inhabiting the body.  The enchantments that allow Zoraida purchase in this corpse, and keep the corpse from decaying, also place controls over the powerful undead witch.  She is bound to the will of he who summoned her, the same master villain/evil political all my other characters so far work for.
