El Nicwa rules South America by tooth, claw and more than a little fire. Don’t be fooled by her smiling face, those shimmering eyes and a lack of weaponry… She has a dragon. She’d just been thinking she needed more land and dragon feed (citizens) when up pops another very convenient war!

#18 – The Sleighbot 2000
#18 – The Sleighbot 2000
The time has finally arrived for Santa to join the 21st century. With the help of Willie the Cyborg Elf and the North Pole Computerization and Robotics Division, Santa has been implementing new technology to make Christmas Eve less Stressful.
One of the first innovations was the Sleighbot 2000, an automated helper that has been hooked to the Santa’s sleigh. The sleighbot gives Santa that extra edge in preparing presents and stocking treats for each house, all the while giving the most current readings of temperature and wind direction.
Santa’s life is changing for the better with the help of technological advances.

… continued from Character #16, The Forbiddenaut…
… MANTROPOLIS, the Living City!
The bizarre events surround some of Earth’s super humans like forests uprooting themselves and attacking, magnified microscopic monstrosities and entire lakes disappearing set the bar for surreal circumstances pretty high.  Everyone was still caught off guard, however, when Static City, Washington went on a walkabout.
Civil engineer and city planner William Walker had grand ideas for his hometown of Static City. Ambitious ideas severely limited by his department’s budgetary allotment and, to be honest, physics. Walker was called to the site of some routine work on the sewer system below the streets at the heart of the city where workers uncovered a strange metal wall with “funny markings.â€Â Walker assumed that a portion of the tunnel had been tagged by some gang or another. Upon seeing the wall and the intricately cut markings, Walker rescinded his initial thoughts and put his hand to the only colored marking.
The workers present would later recall how Walker seemingly merged with the wall without making the slightest sound, like it was meant to happen. Walker and the wall were one. The sewage tunnel began to shake and the previously smooth structure of the wall distorted into a caricatured effigy of Walker that bellowed “THE CITY IS MINE!â€
Chaos ensued as Walker’s consciousness took control of Static City, from the ground up. Walker rearranged the buildings and architectural elements to mirror his greatest fantasies. City law enforcement could do nothing to stop the god-like Walker. The government dispatched Gold Gladiator and War-Dove to deal with the tumultuous town. While searching for the source of the urban upheaval, the heroes ran afoul of a mob of Murder Men who were taking advantage of the chaos for their own nefarious activities.
Walker did not want the people of his city injured. He just wanted the cancerous Murder Men gone from his new body. Walker refocused and aided the married heroes, ousting the criminals from his system. The gangsters weren’t going to go quietly and they revealed their secret weapon, a small thermonuclear device. In his rage to rid the Murder Men, Walker lifted the city onto moveable limbs.
The timely arrival of the Man of the Moon saved the city-man and his population. After expelling the device and its unfortunate Murder Man bearer, the lunar protector explained that Walker found what was known as a “civilization engine†and was used by trans-universal settlers hundreds of thousands years ago to power their city-ships in their search for new worlds.
In the end, the Walker/city fused being was allowed to exist, under the watchful eye of the government and anyone who wanted to live there was allowed to in the newly dubbed MANTROPOLIS!
This ancient extraterrestrial artifact was only the world’s first, publicly known interaction with the larger universe. While the civilization engine-powered Mantropolis was, ultimately, a rather benign encounter with alien intelligence, a much more violent introduction to the life beyond our solar system came in the form of…
18 – Rod Serling – Illusionist
Mr. Serling struck me as an Illusionist from the very first time I saw the show he is known best for, The Twilight Zone. As a class, Illusionists specialize in manipulating the perceptions of people – basically, lying to people with magic. The most powerful Illusionists can create unbreakable visions that can transport people to another world. And this is basically what Rod Serling did. With a few words, a single script, he could transport you to a world where the sun never rises, where living slot machines stalk their victims, or where a child’s wish can change your fate.
This was one of the harder designs I’ve done this month, for a number of reasons. Firstly, Ol’ Rod’s design is pretty much set in stone. That black suit, his cigarette, that cocked eyebrow, they’re all a big part of Mr. Serling’s character. Unfortunately, they’re not particularly well-suited to a fantasy design, and the fact that the Illusionist is a very poorly-defined class (visually speaking) helps not at all.
#18: Giant Rat-Pig
This is a funny animal I made up. He’s huge and he’s part rat and part pig.
Thanks, Xavier
#17 – Wendigos
To say that the undead are merely reanimated corpses is to deny the dark, warping power that animates them. The Wendigo is a good example of the distorting powers of darkness. The legends say that there is one, original, inhuman entity, called The Wendigo. What happens to it’s victims is not readily known, although they begin to change and corrupt in painfull ways well before they die. These Wendigos pictured here are the end results of the unholy metamorphosis- bestial, inhuman forms filled with the frozen rage of the north. They will come out of the squalls, from the whiteness of the storm, to tear victims limb from limb, to drag them screaming up into the skies. And the unlucky ones, they are taken away… to The Wendigo.
#18 Gipper
An Army brat, Mitch Gipper never knew one place that he could call home.
He was always the new kid, and as such, he was always getting himself into fights.
His father was a Combatives instructor who taught his son the basics in self-defense. In time, he became an instructor of Combatives as well upon entering the Army.
After a tour of duty overseas, Gipper found himself in the middle of a fight between a pair of soldiers on opposing sides. He beat the opposing soldier to submission, but instead of being thanked, his fellow soldier felt humiliated and challenged Gipper to a fight.
Gipper manhandled his opponent, but conflicting reports from his superiors (who was close to the family of the beaten soldier) forced a trial for an immediate court-martial and a dishonorable discharge. Although cleared of all charges against him, Gipper did receive an honorable discharge from the Army and reentered civilian life.
Nowhere to go, he found himself in the world of mixed-martial arts where he became one of the world’s most dangerous fighters.
That moniker brought him fame and fortune as well as the attentions of a mysterious promoter who signed him to compete in a tournament unlike any other where he’ll get whatever his heart desires.
Gipper doesn’t want money. He has enough. He doesn’t want fame. He gets mobbed everywhere he goes. He wants vindication and to be considered the world’s greatest fighter.
And he just might be.

#11 The Bottomless Pit
Amy Bourque has a hole in her stomach that she can pull anything she imagines out of it. It all started in 1998 for really no reason. The hole just started growing out of her belly button and stopped widening a week after it began. No real reason or explanation was ever concluded. She currently lives in Hawaii and gives money to the Jimmy Fund and the MSPCA.

#17 Utakei – Weapon
Every day the stirring in my guts becomes a little big stronger, just a little big angrier. I don’t think that it will be much longer before it’s ready.
No one knows who created the idea. It was so many generations ago, before the First Rebellion. When the rebellion was crushed, the Masters destroyed all records and technology they could find, hoping to prevent another uprising. It also destroyed so much of our history, our culture. All we know about the beginning, the world before the Masters, is the stories and legends that parents have passed down to their children, telling of the peaceful plains and wide open skies, of freedom and choice.
After the Second Rebellion, The Masters watched us carefully. They placed cameras and spies everywhere, searching for any signs of unrest. Where unrest was found, it was put down with finality. Their soldiers and bombs destroyed entire villages for a few unwise words.
They took away our technology, only letting us use it while we labored in their factories and fields. We were left to scrabble what we could out of the harsh dry land with the rusty metal tools that they felt safe to leave with us.
None of their attempts to weaken us matter. The seeds of our salvation had already been planted years ago, before even the First Rebellion. The Masters have long questioned our wisdom. How we attack stronger forces every time, all but guaranteeing our defeat. They say it shows that we are not intelligent, that we still require their stewardship and that it is only right we serve them in repayment.
The Rebellions were not uprisings, but distractions, to cement the Masters confidence and give us time, time to grow. The genes were laid in the children of a long forgotten generation, a small change to an organ evolution had long made obsolete.
Now we are all carriers, every one of us feels the throbbing gland in our guts. The generations of mutations have changed the bacteria, making it strong, vicious and hungry. Hungry for the Masters.
The Masters watch us as we serve them, from their lowest factories to their highest towers, from the most distant colony to the Imperial Homeplanet. And they do not see the danger of us.
Some of us are afraid of what will happen, but the decision was made long before. The days pass, and the stirring grows.
18 – Koku of the Ninja Bros. by Beausephus+Son
CHARACTER NAME: Â Koku, of the Ninja Brothers

So when the mood strikes my son (and that is quite often) and he wants to make up “superguysâ€, “superdudesâ€, “supermansâ€â€¦ I pull out a bunch of templates I made for him and he picks out everything from the style of boots to the color scheme of the various costume options presented before him.  I then draw quick sketch, and he edits, adds, etc…  I then draw up the character and he hangs them in his room…if they meet his ultimate judgement.  Then I make him come up with a story for each character.
____________________________________________
THE NINJA BROTHERS is a story that my son started to tell me one night before bedtime.  Perhaps in an attempt to put off the impending lights-out, the story of three long-lost brothers became almost epic in its proportions spreading out over a few evenings and interweaving all of his interests  – superheroes, spies, ninjas, and magic.
KOKU is the eldest of the three NINJA BROTHERS. Â He takes his role as the self-perceived head of the family very seriously. Â “He’s like Cyclops [of the X-Men] who is always mad at people because he is the boss.” Â Koku is very focused- to the point of disconnect with reality and at times, the family and townspeople he has sworn to protect. Â When he and his younger brother BIRQ began to train in the mystic arts of the ninja, he never doubted for a second that they would be able to rescue STINGUT, their baby brother, from the clutches of the evil ninja master who controlled almost every aspect of the lives of the people in the town they lived in. Â Koku is loyal and determined. Â There is no doubt that he is a master swordsman and an imposing physical and mystic threat for one so young, but his driving ambition often blinds him to the simple pleasures of a life he is so determined to protect that he almost doesn’t realize what he is fighting for.
Koku, like Birq and Stingut, is highly skilled at hand to hand combat and mystic ninja magic. Â He is renowned as a swordsman and his homemade weapons are rumored to be enchanted. Â Like all of his brothers, he carries a magic short sword in addition to the rest of his well-honed bladed arsenal.
Thanks for checking out our stuff, my son is very excited to share his ideas with everyone here.
#17 – Ravenfang the Desolate
This gryphon-like demon lord has seen millions of years fly before him, and he will likely see millions more. Rather than remain in the public eye, the reclusive Ravenfang prefers to keep to his shadowy temple, a dark structure that hides amongst a dark, rainless storm, floating around the demon realm.
Ravenfang radiates despair from his body, so that those with weak wills who get too close to him find themselves stricken with negative emotions. It’s said that those who touch him lose all their willpower, and that he can crush their souls in half with his talons. Though many rumors surround him, not many who venture to his keep really die or even disappear… rather, they seem to vanish for a while, only to reemerge later, confused and depressed.
Ravenfang, in all honesty, probably has the power to do all the things that the rumors say he does. But Ravenfang is so old and weathered in spirit that he just prefers to be left alone to watch the world in silence.
#14 Oyster Harvester
We’ve all heard the saying “the world is your oyster.” Well, meet the Oyster Harvester. Posing as a high school guidance counselor, Floyd Meddleson spends his days stealing the potential of the teenagers he’s paid to help. The costume is just for home use.
#17 Gunsmoke Jones
Gunsmoke Jones
“Any simpleton can make a gun out of metal, but a true and living gunslinger can carve a firearm from anything that is at hand. Furthermore, one’s wits and one’s will are the only true substances one can always guarantee will be at hand. And what wonderful weapons we shall make from them, such songs of fire as to make the gods think second thoughts.â€
– Canto XVII, Liber Magnum
Gunsmoke Jones was named such since he was born during a bandit attack. “He come into this world with gunsmoke,†said his father. “Mos’ likely gon’ leave it that way too.†A quiet and curious country boy, while wandering around the Amygdalene Plains he discovers an old, heavy book – The Liber Magnum. He had never heard of the Liber Magnum –literally the “great book” but known to those who keep track of such things as “The Book of The Greater Weapon” — yet he finds that he has an aptitude for its instructions. By mastering its disciplines and creating a weapon with nothing put pure thought, he defeats the bandits who’ve preyed on his town. His folks, and the other villagers, are thankful but also a little scared and worried. They consult the town’s rusty old infobot, who tells him to go to The Eternal City, a utopian metropolis (according to the robot’s outdated databanks), and speak to the Bureau of Memetic Transmission. They should have answers. But his family don’t trust the city, and tell him to be careful and come straight back. As he begins his long journey, following the Gilded Highway to the Eternal City he learns more from the book. The book does not only help him to create constructs and make his mind faster than bullets, but it also whispers dark truths about the world that kind of disturb him. He starts to wonder, is this how the wider world truly is, or are the ideas in the book just colonizing his mind for their own purposes? Hopefully the Bureau of Memetic Transmission in the city will be able to take the book back and sort all of this out…
GUNSMOKE JONES WILL RETURN IN “GUNSMOKE JONES AND THE ETERNAL CITYâ€
