#26 Rich
Rich is a music warrior sent to fill people’s lives with appropriate soundtracks at the appropriate moments. Whether it is life’s highs or lows, he is there to fill the air with music that accompany the emotions felt. He sharpens the moments of clarity, and flattens those that are dull.
This is another friend-inspired piece…At first I wanted to tackle this character in a more complex way with actual knight’s armor-however I got so frustrated with painting those details in such short time that I had to leave that initial concept behind. This doodle came out rather spontaneously and I feel was much more loose and fun to paint with the time constraints. Anyway…wow..can’t believe this is my last character…!
Its been a bit of a roller-coaster month…slightly bitter-sweet….I felt like I took on another full-time job…however the rewards have been well worth it. I can’t count the number of social events I had to forgo in order to not fall as far behind…Anyway-this was a great learning experience and I really appreciate everyone’s positive comments/support. Hope to see you guys all next year!
#28 The Dingo Demon Formerly Known as Sig
Sig was from Denmark. One day, he decided he was going to go to Burning Man. Yeah, he was one of those types of people. While out in the middle of the desert, a bad acid trip & the scorching desert climate worked in concert to fry his brain. It started as a spiritual journey in what he believed the desert he was in wasn’t in Nevada, but the Australian Outback. He wandered through the Dreamtime, hoping to find himself. But Sig didn’t come out of it. Something calling itself the Dingo Demon did. And it dawned a paper mache mask as it wandered out into the high arid plain. Shortly there after, it started stalking, stabbing, & slashing any hapless victims it came across.

Originally, I had Dingo Demon on my list thinking it was going to be some sort of anthropomorphic anime ninja sort of thing. I don’t know why, but instead, I veered more what if Technoviking goes crazy & becomes fixated on the idea that he’s some sort of nasty predatory spirit.
Next one’s a twofer to wrap it up for me.
#30 The Black Mollusk
The first villain to be born superly-abled, Edward “Squidward” Taylor was ostracized since birth. Being teased and abused his entire life, Edward grew up with a nasty disposition and a chip on his shoulder. As he got older, he turned to a life of crime, not being able to support himself any other way.
As The Black Mollusk, he became one of the most dangerous men in the world and Dr. Omnibus’ arch nemesis. Over the decades, Dr. Omnibus captured The Black Mullosk multiple times, but his flexible body and multiple limbs made escaping custody easy.
In 2001 The Black Mollusk invaded Omni Keep and killed Dr. Omnibus. The Black Mollusk is currently in retirement, barricaded within the defenses of Omni Keep.
#27 Wee Andrew of Glenclover
When you’ve got an army that outnumbers you ten to one, it’s good to have someone on your side with the strength of twenty to level the playing field. While Wee Andrew may not be the sharpest person on the battlefield, he’s big & strong & you don’t want to be on the business end of his caber pole.
That’s right. He uses a caber pole. Because swords are too small for his massive hands.

I had the idea ‘Brutal Scot’ on my jumpoff list. From there, I thought I should give the guy a Caber to use as a weapon. So he swings this thing around & flattens skulls with it.
So I reached thirty & had them scanned before midnight so hey, alright! The next couple will be done in short order after this one.
Paisley Queen
When you look up in the night sky, and see a falling star, make a wish if you please but be aware that it may not be a star at all, it may be the Paisley Queen sailing through the evening.
“I’ve come for the wine. What shall we sample tonight?”
Often sought by others for truth and guidance, the Paisley Queen genuinely laughs it off.
“If they’re so stupid they need direction they might as well just have some wine and get over it!”
Casual Formal Server
Being the best there is at what I do is the easiest and most carefree way to be.
“Yeah, that’s right, I’m laid back and fun and formal and goofy, all at the same time. Try that on for size.”
You never know just what story is being built or considered when you pass me, or how you might be contributing to the sequence being built.
“I may be quiet, but I’m a deep thinker. Herpaderp.”
Day 30: Paul Peppers
Character #30, Paul Peppers. He kinda looks like Feris, but that wasn’t intentional at all.
He’s based off the characteristics of pepper. He has quite the number of allergies, relating to how pepper makes people sneeze. He can be quite bitter at first, but when you get to know him, you can appreciate him, and maybe even think he’s a nice guy. That’s how Paul somehow became Sid Salts’ best friend, Sid saw good in him and pursued it. He’s quite the sophisticated type.
Last character! Huzzah!!!
#30 Frank Eastin – Retiree
My boss came to see me last week. Or I should say that my ex-boss came to see me. He does that every couple of months. Stops by the beach, pretends that he’s just checking in on his old friend. We sit, we laugh, we share a few beers. I loan him a pole and he does a few casts. We both pretend that we don’t know why he’s come.
Usually around the third beer he brings it up. He’ll casually mention, “So we had a strange case come up recently.†And then he takes off with it.
The first time he did it, I tried to stop him, but he would just stop for a bit and then work up to it a different way. Now I think it’s better to just let him roll. I’ve told him it’s not happening.
I did my years, and I’m done. I traveled the world, seen more countries than most satellites, and all I had to show for was a lot of tombstones behind me and a paycheck. A big paycheck to be fair, but it wasn’t the same thing as a career.
Since I’ve been retired, I’ve had the most boring years of my life. No guns, no explosions, no psychotic killers popping out of birthday cakes. Frankly I’ve been bored to tears and loving every minute of it.
#23 thru #30 – Procrastination Collection

Lisa Robinson – 30 Characters, completed!
Well, I cut it close but I finished! Schoolwork and funnily enough, my Thanksgiving break kind of snuck up on me near the end, but I managed to get some characters out! They’re not all top-notch, but I’m much more of a concept thrower than a polisher. I’m really happy with some of the new guys that have emerged from this challenge, and I think I’ll be using a lot of them in the future!
I think some of my favorites were 4, 5, 6, 9, 12, 25, and 29.
It was a lot of fun and has been an interesting month. I loved seeing everybody’s characters! Maybe I’ll try at it again next year… if I have the time!
#10 Mernok
Art by Michael Powell (@mpowelljr)
Words by Rolando Garcia (@roshow)
Billions of light years away, a body of water trillions of times Earth’s size exists in space. The center of this unique celestial body is a pulsing quasar. Misguided Earth scientists, never once considering that there could be intelligent life there, built an unstable wormhole connecting our corner of the universe with that quasar. Although they only managed to maintain the bridge open for a matter of microseconds, the results on the other end were catastrophic.
An advanced amphibian society had developed near the quasar over thousands of years. A group of their own scientists, on a standard data-gathering expedition, were ripped from their home world and pulled to Earth through the wormhole bridge. All but one, Mernok, died in transit. In a blink of an eye, Mernok found himself alone, without any of his own kind, on a strange planet. His initial reaction was rage and hostility. He abandoned all his advanced intellect and let loose with the primal, unstoppable rage his species was capable of.
Before Mernok could anything he might later regret, a group of Earth’s heroes lead by Revenger subdued him. Their nobility brought Mernok to his senses. To repay them, he pledged to use his skills as member of their heroic community, at least until he could find a way back home.
Today, Mernok is known as one of the most brilliant scientists on our planet… and one of the fiercest warriors too. He dreams of the day he can solve the problem of creating a stable wormhole and return home to tell his family about the adventures he’s had on Earth.
[Fun fact: there actually is a body of water surrounding a quasar, 12 billion light years away from Earth. Check it out.]
