Illustration and graphic design as career goals is evident through the massive amount of work I have been producing in the last few years. The entire focus and purpose of my life since 2006 has been a progression of moving my career into the illustration fields, and specifically the sequential art illustration field. Living in Portland I learned what sacrifices it takes to make a serious career out of illustration and design. For four years I have been self-publishing multiple zine and comic titles, doing 24 Hour Comics whenever possible, and tabling at cons in cities all over the Northwest and Widwest American States including Washington, Oregon, and Colorado.

My career history involves a over a decade in successful business management, and so eventually it is my goal to be a project manager for a graphic design firm, or editor for a comic book company, with attention always to penciling jobs when available.

It is my ongoing goal to pencil daily, render for at least three hours.

Nunavut the Hunter

Inuit Hot Hunter

Inuit hunter, spirit guide.

“Nunavut is a wilderness seal hunter and spirit guide.  She wears the symbol of her national origin, which prominently features a spiritual rock cairn totem.  Nunavut is a curious mix of traditional conservative tribal beliefs, and westernized practicality.”I really wanted to spend a little time building a cool concept for the first character.  Attractive ladies are always fun, and I love drawing heavy clothing.

You can’t go wrong with a hot seal hunting gal who carries pink grenades!

Alright Alright!

This is going to be a busy month, but as a nice change of pace this will be the first month which I am not tabling at a comics convention, so busy or not, I can completely commit to this endeavor.

I’m setting a lot of goals for myself this month.  Since I’m finally not traveling, every morning I will create a new character as a warm-up exercise before I set to work on my commissions and my own stories.

This will also force me to Sit Down and Work on My Portfolio which is a constant drag on me.

It will be exciting to see what everyone comes up with, and it will be a goal of mine to check out all the submissions in the morning and evening.  Onward and upward!
