2013 Challenger: Amy Heisei
I am Amy of the Heisei. I was a follow-through challenger in 2010 when I did my first total of 30 characters. I thought I’d try again last year: though I did work on some characters I never posted anything, so didn’t quite follow-through that time. This year, I plan to make my new thirty characters before I reach my dirty thirtieth birthday. I’ve already got some ideas for characters I’ve been meaning to manifest and I’m not gonna miss out this time. Looking forward to new beautiful creatures’ faces this year.
Last time I’d mentioned that I’d been doing music with my band “Light of the Loon.” Since then we’ve gotten a definite violinist and have been excited how well we’ve been taking off. Looking forward to music festivals and hopefully our first mini-tour this spring. Wherever there is the enlightenment of loons, we’re not far away. May creativity rule the world! I have past work here on my profile and more at cephaloneiric.deviantart.com
2012 Challenger: Amy “Of Many Faces” Heisei
I missed last year but finished the challenge two years ago when 30 Characters in 30 Days played a significant part in changing my life. We’ll see what it does to me this year. Last time it got me connected with the person I’ve been with for almost 2 years now, helped paved my way towards being one of the creators of a new comic book, and gave me confidence in my self-motivation and determination. Recently I’ve become a more serious musician, having newly acquired a drummer, violinist, and flautist to my band that started out with just my sister and I. Thus I will likely have some musical influence sneaking into my characters this year.
Here’s when the band was just my sister and me. I’m dressed as one of my comic book characters, Dr. Rainbow.
And here’s the current full band.
Returning to the Game
I missed thirty characters last year, but I’m coming back and brought some friends! Looking forward to seeing what is born this time around.
Amy “Of Many Faces” — 30 Characters in 30 Days
Okay, I couldn’t figure out how to get the thumbnails to automatically be linked to their pages through the “post gallery” button. But luckily, I knew some HTML and just made a table for them. Yes, I know. It’s OCD. IT’S ALL I KNOW. I hope you enjoy my gallery, if you can stand another peek at it. Happy arting, everyone.
No. 30: Cunt-Tree
Have to be honest.
This character was inspired from a conversation I had with friends in reference to,
“My country ’tis of thee.”
So this is my Cunt Tree.
It grew in the sweet land of Liberty,
where the word “cunt” doesn’t have
a negative connotation.
Where it is but a word
that cannot harm,
but in fact uplifts and promotes growth.
I like it.
Last entry, a successful 30 characters later.
Holy crap, I actually did it.
Thank you SO MUCH to the makers of this site.
This was just the thing I needed to get back to my imagination.
Looking forward to next year.
Thanks everyone, for sharing your amazing art.
You guys rock.
No. 29: Bass Ackwards
Subtitled, “Animal Testing Experiment # 00235711,”
but that title was ignored because it was actually
created indirectly from chemicals dumped in the water.
Talk about awkward.
No. 27: The Inventor’s Daughter
All the technology she could wish for.
And all she wants to do is fly away.
No. 26: G.I. STEVE
Characterization/portrait of an actual friend who really does have that tattoo.
And who is a REAL American hero.
No. 18: Moon Rabbit
Moon Rabbit is one of the two rabbit images in the moon who pounds rice into mochi. When a little girl wished for one of the rabbits, he was trapped on the earth until a quest was fulfilled.
No. 15: The Lotus
Temiyo Murotehira is The Lotus.
Spreading peace, love, and harmony one ass-kicking at a time.
No. 13: Animal Testing Experiment #002357
Unlucky number 13.
What doesn’t kill us makes us stranger.
No. 10: Superdog
The alter ego of our dog, Yakuza, who thinks she’s human sometimes.
And yes, her name means “Mafia” because she gives us “protection.”
No. 7+8: Cleptopatra & Fumbleclod
One’s a compulsive stealer of hearts, the other a clumsy furry dude who’s in love, trying to decide whether to pursue a relationship with a flighty female who may well eat her mate, post-coital.
No. 6: Green Bean the Mean
A character made of my cat. Who acts like a middle-aged boy. And cost me about 200 or more dollars in damage from chewing my electronics’ cords, including my laptop power cord. It must be love. Otherwise he’d be dead right now.
He has green eyes and reminds me very much of the main dragon from “How to Train Your Dragon.”
No. 4: “Nappy” Thort
A fellow who takes himself very seriously.
His name is an anagram for the cause of some sleepy side-effects of Thanksgiving dinner.
No. 3: Poor George
“Poor George” is the characterization of an infamous Akronite who is known to howl at the moon when expressing his… satisfied state.
