Joanna Lang inherited a strange bracelet from her uncle, an eccentric inventor. She soon discovered that the bracelet is actually a device that can allow her to access other dimensions and “shift” the abilities and appearance of her “analogues” that exist in these dimensions. Joanna also finds that many of these versions of herself possess superhuman abilities. One of these is a version of herself that has light green hair, wears a blue and yellow bodysuit, has incredible speed and agility, and uses a wrist-mounted gun. Taking the name “Shifter”, Joanna decides to try her hand at crime-fighting, even though she’s not very comfortable being a vigilante….

Hello everyone, I'm Marc McKenzie, and this is my second year taking part in of this challenge. I've been a freelancer for the past few years, working in animation and creating commissioned work for clients including the New York Times. There have been ups and downs, but...that's life. Honestly, though, I enjoyed taking part in the challenge last year, and I hope to do my best this year...but I hope that everyone does their best and has fun!
Ironically, I never really set out to do art at first. I studied something completely different in college and it was only because of an art teacher that I changed gears.
Currently I'm living in Hillsborough, New Jersey, working on commissions, trying to find full-time work, and being a doting uncle to my niece.
Very nicely drawn! The curves, colors and shadows all flow together well. Bold, but smooth. I love the unique character idea, too! Great work!
Thanks much!
As much as I like coloring the characters, though, I might not be doing coloring for a few of the characters I’m posting…just finished pencils instead.
But, again, thanks for the kind words–it’s much appreciated!
