I'm an illustrator currently working as a 2D artist for mobile apps, but my first love is storytelling! [Artblog: http://blog.inkgizmo.com] [Tumblr: http://inkgizmo.tumblr.com]
Joyce Ann (InkGizmo) Martin 2013 Summary!
If thumbnails aren’t your thing, you can check out the blog post archive of my entire run of 30 Characters in 30 Days 2013 here.
                            Â
I am happy to have succeeded in my first year as a challenger! I used 2013 as a month of no-pressure discovery by exploring subjects that I like while experimenting with my method. Along the way I ended up developing some good time-management habits for sure! It also left me anxious to start storytelling again, which was an interesting and encouraging feeling. It’ll be fun to look back on this set next year!
If you liked my work, more of my illustrations and visual musings can be found on my blog: http://blog.inkgizmo.com

Cheers and congratulations to all participants!
30: Water Dancer Thalassa
You find her behind the ebb of every tide and the rush of every current.
(And that’s it for my 30 Characters in 30 Days 2013! Summary post with musings to come.)
29: Signa the Silver Sword
She was the final line of defense, and she knew that she could allow nothing to get by.
28: Joy-en Aquino
She was always up for mischief, even when dressed in her Sunday best.
(I had this dress as a child. It was a wine-colored velvet and the least comfortable thing I remember.)
22: Brownie Searc
Pretty enthusiastic about sewing things as many things as he could together before the house wakes up, which sometimes led to less-than-helpful results.
20: Jimmy “Buzz” Lewis
He just knows we’ll go back to the moon and beyond some day, and when we do, he is going to be ready.
19: Apprentice Dowser Nadia
Really the “apprentice” title was unnecessary, since if she was dowsing she was dowsing, and if she was not she was not.
16: Lizzie the Once-Loved Doll
Lizzie had been on the shelf for far too long. She thought that it was about time that SOMEONE played with her again.
15: Johnny Anyseed
Why limit yourself to just apples?
(Named after the achievement in Glitch, the little MMO that could. You are sorely missed!)
13: Billy the Sand King
He built his kingdom from the ground up.
(Image edited 2013-11-19. Had his left foot reversed. Oops. >_<)
12: Princess Milia of the Fair Isles
Something was amiss in the kingdom, and Princess Milia was sure that being told not to worry was the worst sign.
Dress inspired by this Rohit Bal India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 dress and cape-style sleeves.
09: Candi Kureyon
Her wardrobe is unashamedly based off of a Crayola crayon box. Her motto? “The brighter, the better!”
06: Cerise Smallgear
Lacking diamonds, a mechanical bird is a good substitute for a girl’s best friend.
02: Jeane Muretta, Alchemist Extraordinaire
Every gal needs some way to defend herself when the terrors of the West come a-calling.
01: Shifter
The curious Shifter collects and dons many different personas. He’s just trying to find a skin in which he can be comfortable.
