Red Electric Serpent says, “I activate in order to survive, bonding instinct. I seal the store of life force with the electric tone of service. I am guided by the power of universal water.”
Day 25, 26, 27, 28, 29
Bottom of a bottle
A story about Djinn like race of creatures that can’t actually grant wishes they simply appear to. I havn’t really come up with much of a story maybe I will later.
Sandra is desperate she needs a miracle and goes out searching for a wish. Unfortunately she doesn’t find the djinn she’s looking for. Simply their look-a-likes.
I will have to get this story together some time.
#29 – Sammy “Great†Scott.
Adorable, cute, lovely, kind hearted all of these words describe Sammy Scott nearly perfectly. Always out in summery dresses and pattern tights enjoying life with a huge grin on her face. She is hard not to love.
However when this young lass isn’t drawing for her art degree or seeing some cool new age folk band she is doing battle with Trolls, ghosts, vampires and all those other beasts of legend and myth. Its this side of her that has earned her the nickname Great Scott.
Her Dad, the late great William Scott was a monster hunter of some considerable note. The only man in resent age to have banished a fully-grown black banshee back to the dimension that it belongs.
Before he passed away he handed his old leather satchel to Sammy and told her that it was her destiny to continue his work.
William Scott’s spirit was the first ghost Sammy had ever seen, for you see as soon as she had taken hold of her fathers satchel not only had it transformed, through some white magic into, a very cute little shoulder bag, it had also passed all of her fathers monster hunting energy to Sammy. She could now see ghosts, sense vampires; she was to be frank, kind of a bad ass.
Sammy and her Fathers spirit spent all that evening talking, they spoke about what it was he really did. He told her all about his greatest adventures and how it had been is honor to protect the world from the things of the night. Before his spirit passed to the other side he told her to reach into her new bag and draw out what ever she found.
She sank her hand into the bag; it was far deeper than it physically should have been. A bag of holding is what he Father told her it was, capable of holding almost anything or any weight, it was the greatest tool in a monster hunters arsenal, well not greatest, the greatest monster hunting tool was currently inside the bag.
As Sammy pulled her arm free she brought something with it. A huge mighty battleaxe, wrought in gold and silver with runes and details engraved all over it. Her Father smiled at her, and with his last few sentences told her how proud of her he was and that he would always love her, and with that he was gone.
That’s how Sammy Scott became the newest monster hunter. Taking up the mantle that had been passed down through the generations. Although it must be said she is perhaps the first hunter to wear heels and a flower patterned dress out to hunt a Wendigo, but damn it if she didn’t rock it with her enchanted battleaxe over one shoulder.
#24 Moyura Tomoe
Moyura Tomoe, 12, has been an invaluble source of information of Ao Lai culture for American reporters. Between practice sessions and daily chores, she gives us information about the day-to-day lives of her people and her fellow workers as well as an insight into Ao Lai’s history. Americans are welcome in Ao Lai, but it’s almost a de facto rule in Ao Lai that the Ao Liese do not leave their soil; prices to travel to America are in the top five of the most expensive things an Ao Liese person can buy. Because of this, Tomoe has not been to the states, but she was curious about the Americans, as many Ao Liese are, and did not turn down the oppurtunity to speak with us when we offered her a special spot on our radio show, Purple Country, a television program in which guests, both Ao Liese and American, explore a topic and how its impact differs between their cultures. Tomoe was an innocent and curious but very mature girl, and her apperance was a hit in America and even more so in Ao Lai, where the show is brodcasted as a podcast. When fans clamored to see more of Tomoe, we offered her another chance when we asked her for an interview. The response was as expected, and soon, Purple Country and Ms. Moyura began to slowly, very slowly, bridge the gap between America and Ao Lai. We asked her about the nature of her work and one of the uniforms she had, and she told us:
“The Mensenjaji… of Ao Lai’s Nippon are the women and girls in the art called Mensenyokaji, the female profession of communing with Ao Liese spirits. Ao Liese people believe women are more in tune with the spirit world because we are healthy and feel many more emotions than men. They are in touch with the mytical creatures. Mensenmu is my rank. I perform the ceremonial dances that are accompanied by music or by singing or both. My makeup… is meant to symbolize or represent the face of the spirit of… merciful death, Huang Mu… The red paint enhances the features and imitates the folds on Huang Mu’s face. The blue makeup highlight/imitate the loss or stagnation of blood in certain areas. The whitish makeup… represents the pallid complexion of those that are ill, dying, or dead. My outfit is not a furisode. It is called a “non,” which is Harayin for “long.” My sleeves are very long, because I have items I use in my dances in my sleeves. I need room to pull them out gracefully. The colors are the ones… the Mighty Huang Mu… is often seen wearing, so… I wear that. The flowers and leaves in my hair mostly represent beauty… I wear 12 pins in my hair, because 12 is a symbol of womanhood, and Huang Mu… prefers to interact with woman instead of with girls.”
DAY TWENTY-NINE – Saint Dymphna
From The Clone Saints Chronicles: While problems with the cloning process are not uncommon, the tenacity of Saint Dymphna‘s insanity-inducing abilities has convinced many of my colleagues that we should abandon this particular matrix and try one with a more real-world applications, like Saint Joseph. I can’t imagine anything more dreadfully boring. Let my critics say what they will, Dymphna will prove to them the benefit of letting go once in a while.
#8, 9
Young Irina Parros, a student at the Mykalis School of Magic, cast a summoning spell that went wrong–she ended up summoning a creature long thought extinct–the Goumf, a flying creature capable of enhancing the magical abilities of those whom it bonds with. This Goumf, named Jaspar, bonds with Irina, and the two have a series of adventures together.  While other students shun Irina because of her new “pet”, Bryce Quinn isn’t one of them. He becomes Irina’s best ally, and even gains the loyalty of Jaspar as well…
Don’t let Kaya Franco’s looks fool you. Yes, she’s still in her teens, and yes, she dresses in the goth/loli fashion. But she’s also a top assassin, capable of taking out targets with her modified GF-42 rifle. She can also get in close for the kill and shows no mercy. Her cold demeanor, flaming red hair, and machine-like precision has earned her the nickname “Lolipopper”.
#6, 7
In the near future, the popular sport is a mix of parkour and tag–a sport made all the more exciting due to the addition of anti-gravity packs that allow for incredible leaps and other feats of agility. Miriam Stafford is one of the top stars of this sport, even though she became a participant by accident. Still, with her red hair and glasses, she’s become a fan favorite. Dubbed “A-Gee” by the media, Miriam continues to work her way up the leaderboards so she can challenge the mysterious#1, the champion known only as the Black Arrow.
What’s this? An elf playing baseball?! Strange, but true. It’s what the Bluebirds, the baseball team of Halloran College, have been dealing with ever since the lovely Serah suddenly appeared one night in a flash of light. Where was she from? She claims its the kingdom of Rithmar, but a wizard’s spell sent her to “the primitive world”. She knows magic, but she cannot use it well here.
But she knows how to play baseball. In fact, as the team discovers, she’s a natural. And yet, they can’t let the world know what she is. Thanks to some quick action by teammates Jennifer Kilby and Ray Brenner (the Bluebirds are a co-ed team), Serah is able to play while looking like a regular college student. Of course, her skills can help to take the team to the championship, but Serah cautions the team that they shouldn’t only rely on her, but on their own skills.
#30Characters Chatter…
