#5 The Undertaker
The undertaker is an undead rider that seeks out graves and raises the dead.
Equiped with his trusted riffel and horse.
He travesl all over the plains in search of those who killed his family and him.
#10 Child Illustration
This set of color illustrations were drawn with a #01 round brush and India ink, then colored with Photoshop, which I am still trying to get a handle on. Personally, I think the coloring came out pretty well.
Day 10: Maple Fairy
“They are the most irritating creatures in existence! They dance around you and leave little creepy crunchy corpses all in your space…They get in your fur, in your food…”
“Well, at least they are better than the cicadas. Those fuckers get literally EVERYWHERE.”
“I rather have the cicadas. They don’t scream when I try to eat them.”
“Yeah I gues-wait. What?”
-Fig and Snitch on Maple Fairies
Maple fairies are little wood spirits. At the very end of winter, they awaken from the elder trees and spread throughout the forest like a plague in absurd amounts. Many die in the first month, their corpses giving off life magic to promote growth for Spring. Those who survive, mate till the end of summer so they may grace us with their presence in overwhelming numbers the next spring.
Maple fairies are very wise, but not very intelligent at all. They are very in tune with the woods and emotions, but otherwise fail at everything else. Because they can’t think their way out of a paper bag, they get stuck in everything from your ice cream cone to your fur. Like many fairies, Maple fairies enjoy sweets and can be attracted by vinegars or syrups.
When Maple fairies are in danger, they change their faces to look more child-like and cry loudly like a baby. Despite this, if they are strong-willed enough, some supernatural creatures find the small creatures to be great junk food. According to Fig, Maple fairies taste like a combination of roasted chestnuts and honey-glazed bacon.
#10 Reggie Hartsford
Reggie is a firm believer that life should be enjoyed. He is energetic and loves to overstate opinions that are generally not his own. He is easily swayed by others, especially his sister as she is clearly the more rational of the two. His love of fiddling around with things invokes a passion for the newest technologies. His latent interest in photography was exploited by his sister to get him a position at the same dig as her. Though quite skilled as a photographer, his inattention to details and tendency to get distracted is a bit trying to those around him.
#9 Beryl Hartsford
When Beryl and her brother visited Egypt, she instantly fell in love with everything about the place, but mostly the antiquities, tombs and history. As an accomplished artist, Beryl was able to easily find a position with a fairly reputable archaeological dig and even managed to wrangle a job for her brother as a photographer so she could keep an eye on him (despite the fact that he is technically her “chaperoneâ€). She is quiet by nature, but fantastically opinionated. And once an opinion is formed it is hard to convince her otherwise. She is tenaciously devoted to those she loves and respects, but if you get on her bad side nothing short of a miracle will change her opinion of you.
#10 Lisha Okoro – The Map
Lisha Okoro was a well respected and liked priest in her small community in Nigeria. She was kind hearted and caring and easy to like. She lived a quiet, peaceful life and was content. That was until the comet came.
After the events, now dubbed ‘The Rune Awakening’ Lisha is a hunted woman, always on the run.
The comet burned the sky for a second and the god runes power was stirred. Lisha’s church had been sent a rune as it traveled the globe so all the churches of her country could behold it. It was in her safe keeping when it awoke.
Washing over her body the pale blue light of the rune absorbed into her. It granted her insight. The runes energy made it so Lisha could pass her hand over anything and see something others couldn’t. If she passed her hand over a pregnant woman she would tell the sex of the child, pass if over an apple and she could tell the location of the tree it came from.
It is not for these gifts that she is hunted. It is for what Lisha can see when she passes her hand over a map that makes her the prize so many are after. Because when Lisha uses insight over a map of any kind she can see where all the other runes are, if they have been absorbed and if the original rune stone is still with the host.
Lisha Okoro is the map to power.
Abdara the brilliant psychopath
Insanity is but a fine line away from the state of being a genius.
One can also say that Insanity is the catalyst that fuels the brilliance of a genius. Afterall,  most brilliant inventions  come of as abstract and crazy ideas to begin with.
Like an unstable and powerful compound of boundless potential, the mind of Abdara conquers all with the power of science.
Abdara’s powerful intellect comes from a thirst, no- a lust for knowledge. Astral physics, Necromancy, Alchemy, Geomancy, Sorcery -you name it, Abdara has dabbled in them all, for he believes that “Magic” (or Magick) are but sciences that are yet to be comprehended.
With his vast understanding of the physical and arcane sciences, Abdara weaves and creates inventions like an artist painting a masterpiece.  Weapons of unimaginable, terrifying power, War-machines capable of mass destruction, Interdimensional gateways, and Elixirs that allow one to survive without nourishment for months with just a sip, were some of the many ideas that Abdara conjured.
Under the leadership of the Emperor, Abdara was promised resources, and his own laboratory (lair) to serve the Empire. The Mirage Raiders were one of the many inventions that Abdara created to proof his loyalty to the Empire.
“His insane ideas has brought us to an age of advancement centuries, no, millennia ahead of our time.”- The Emperor
#09 and #10 – Coriander and Le Pup
Many of the hackers who are interested in slime hunting are actually far more interested in the things they can DO with ooze than the simple act of acquiring it. Coriander — real name Alice Monterey — is one of the most enthusiastic proponents of ooze as a fashion statement. Not one to directly compete with others for nanopartical material, the bounties Coriander offers for slime is actually a major source of income for other hackers, and even some less-scrupulous NMSA agents.
Le Pup is actually just one of many, many cores owned by Coriander. As part of her philosophy towards nanoparticle ooze, she uses the multiform ooze to accessorize her retro-futuristic sense of style. As a result, most of her cores are actually fairly weak, and are of little use in a fight.
The keywords that my RNG threw up for Coriander and her disturbing floating pug were Modern Art, Therian, One Pair of Wings, Collar, Tail, Bulldog Mouth. I actually went through a couple designs for this pair, some more menacing than others. Coriander ended up winning out just because I love spacesuits.
#3 Doctor Jim
Meet Doctor Jim. He is actually not a doctor. In fact he is a baker. He makes the most delicious cupcakes…Â ever.
Day 10: This-Cat-Lip-Poker
This-Cat-Lip-Poker (Tezcatlipoca) frightening jaguar god of discord, and harasser of feline faces.Â
#10 Maiden
Real name: Nancinda “Nancy” Smith
Height: 5’6
Weight:197 lbs.
Nancy is your typical teenager looking to belong in the world. One day she discover a necklace that gives her the power to do anything she wanted. She became Maiden, a teenager saving the world and making a difference in the world.
Powers: Creating beams from her hands. Able to use light as a weapon.
#8 The voice in your ear
The voice is a monster that sits in your ear and tells you terrible things that paralyze and prevent your from moving forward. Maybe it tells you you aren’t good enough, or that you don’t have the time, or that your plan is too frivolous. It is able to mimic the voice of its victim so perfectly that you will think its voice is your own. Remember that it is not.
#10 Mothminister
A supervillain character for an upcoming project. A little Red Skull, a little Abomination…and a whooole lotta moth.
Day 10-Harrow
Harrow was created by scientist-farmer Dr. Jeb Michaels. Wanting to give himself and his fellow farmers the chance to not feel as if they were working alone all the time, Dr. Michaels took the harrow blades from their unit and attached them to a robotic body he had built. This allowed the robot to till the soil on the farm while giving the doctor company in the fields. After the doctor was killed by rival potato farmers who were upset with the size and quality of his spuds, Harrow brought the thugs to justice on behalf of his friend and creator. With no real purpose after, Harrow has become a defender of other downtrodden farmers against the tough farming mobs.
Day 10 – Robert the Robot
Robert is a maintenance robot that achieved sentience. Now he tries to learn magic.
Karina Mulroney
Subject (or possibly victim) of an experimental cost-cutting initiative by the National Astronomical Voyage/Exploration League. Selected for having few living family members and a minimum of other personal connections, Karina was told she would be testing an experimental new type of ship’s computer but was misled somewhat regarding the exact details. The short version is that now, her disembodied head has been installed in a starship as its main CPU and its crew is a horde of ambulant units cloned from her DNA and physically re-engineered depending on their purpose. Since there’s only one actual crew member they only have to pay one salary, and Karina can be fed an inexpensive nutrient sludge as the ambulant units can’t actually taste. Though she tries to make the best of her situation since there’s no way to reverse it, she’s most certainly not actually happy about it, and NAVEL’s main concern right now is keeping her from noticing she is now, for all intents and purposes, literally an armed starship and can leave with their investment anytime she likes (which she is more or less always on the verge of; even when she was just a simple engineering major she had issues with their politics and being on the inside has only exacerbated them).
Pictured here are Karina with the exterior of the spaceship and the three core unit variants; the default, unmodified clone or “clerical” unit, the miniaturized “maintenance” unit, and the “supply” unit, given increased size and muscle mass for heavy lifting. She has a database of other, rather more exotic and specialized models that can be engineered as required. The color of the right shoulder on the uniforms the ambulant units wear is a rank indicator; since Karina was a civilian volunteer, green was introduced especially for her.
Luella Loafwright
Delilah’s mother and Bradley’s wife. A jackalope chandler. Sort of a nervous type. Created as a background character for a webcomic taking reader submissions.
Bradley Loafwright
Delilah’s father and Luella’s husband. A jackalope baker. Somewhat attention-deficit and oblivious to things going on around him, but he gets the job done. The last word in bread. Second-to-last word in cake. Created as a background character for a webcomic taking reader submissions.
Delilah Loafwright
Bradley and Luella’s daughter. A jackalope butcher. Partial to mead, dancing, and guys that can figure out how to keep her dad’s attention for a whole conversation. Her shop’s specialty is vegetable lamb! Created as a background character for a webcomic taking reader submissions.
Wallace Gibbons
An engineer experimenting with radical and somewhat dangerous new techniques in prosthetics. Although he’s accomplished everything from perfect control to simulating nerves to allow the limbs to feel, they’re prone to catastrophic malfunction at times still. Don’t be fooled by his rotund, genial appearance; he is quite mercenary and almost entirely amoral. He furnished both Leuciscus sisters with their various prostheses.
Lillian Leuciscus
None too happy about the loss of her legs, which she rather enjoyed using, Lillian also turned to modular prosthesis; although unlike her sister, she opted for entirely robotic ones. Given the choice between getting her legs back or stopping her sister’s insane plans for world domination, Lillian would take the legs and go back to her simple life selling specialty pet food and the world could just deal with its new dictator (in fact she’s sort of annoyed that she even has to go to the trouble of getting them back herself in the first place; she was never particularly motivated before), but as the one goes hand-in-hand with the other, she won’t complain if the world ends up getting saved when she gets those legs back.
Anne-Marie Leuciscus
For the first twenty-odd years of her life Anne-Marie was a law-abiding if antagonistic member of society. Then one day she lost her legs and eye in a car crash. Not interested in spending the rest of her life in a nice, cheap, functional wheelchair, she decided the obvious solution was to steal her sister’s legs, which she did, in a caper law enforcement still doesn’t fully comprehend. Afterwards she read Mike Mignola’s The Amazing Screw-On Head and decided modularity was the way to go, and thus began a spree of anatomical larceny to ensure Anne-Marie was prepared for any situation, ever. She’s now convinced that with the right combination of parts she can take over the world single-handed.
