#4 General Ivan Andreyovich Antonov

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

General Ivan Andreyovich Antonov

Ivan has been general of the Old Empire for nearly fourty years now, and is
the longest sitting ruler it has ever had, according to most historians.
Ivan makes extensive use of trusted advisers to handle things for him to make
sure that his will is law in every situation. Spies have infiltrated the courts of ever notable officer, sons have been bought with promises
of promotion and favour. Nothing happens in the Empire without General Ivan knowing about it and having amde a decision about it.
He is garrulous by nature, preferring to play the friendly and beneficent ruler while his agents threaten and extort those who oppose him.
Ivan is old now, though he still rules the empire with an iron fist through his advisors. He is considered mild in his stance towards
the Westerling realms and the Merchant Protectorate, and under his rule the first peace treaty with those realms was established, opening
a tenuous supply route through the Protectorate-controlled Eastwall.
Ivan is the last of his house, and his wife died in miscarriage. He is very proud of his dead family’s status and history,
and as very fond of pomp and military parades.

Mulgrad, 143rd year since the retreat, 4th month, 13th day of the 1st week

From: Ivan Andreyovich Antonov, General and steward of all the empire
To: Dusan vastov, First Lieutenant in the General’s army, liege lord of Vastovtsi Castle and the lands belonging thereto.

My old friend,

I wish I were writing you for pleasant reasons, or even a simple matter of state. Instead, I find myself turning to you
in an hour of great need. I am politically besieged, my enemies are at my gates and assassins and spies stalk my halls.
Our old friend’s son is not the man we hoped he was, and I fear he plots against me. My body grows weak and my mind restless,
soon I may pass away to join my ancestors by the Dragon’s side, but right now the Empire needs me, needs us both.
Make your way to the capital with all haste and bring your heir, young as he is he needs to know what I have to say.
I cannot say more in this letter lest it be intercepted.

Till we meet,

Ivan

Day Three: Gateway

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

Full name: Roy Scarborough
Alias: Gateway
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Allignment: Good
Race: White
Height: 5’9”
Abilities: Advanced telekinesis, flight (neon green telekinectic beams shoot from hands and feet when used)

Appearance: Short black hair, White suit with hunter green gloves, boots, cape, domino mask, and underwear, yellow belt
Bio: In the year 2100, the company Cyberkinetics, Inc. has perfected their designs for the Brain-Gate Neural Kinetics Chip (BGNKC), a system of computer chips attached to people’s brains and hands/feet that allow for telekinesis in soldiers and the disabled. However, it wasn’t long before the BGNKC was found in the hands of criminals, purchased off the black market. To avoid public disgrace, Cyberkinetics began a program to equip the police with the next generation BGNKC technology to combat these criminals.

The new chips had to be tested before they were handed over to the police force, so Lt. Roy Scarborough was selected as the prototype candidate. The installation was a complete success, but the cost was more than the local government was willing to pay to outfit their entire force with the chips. As a result, Scarborough was the sole recipient of the technology.

However, in his first case after getting his powers, he accidentally killed his assailant by throwing him over 500 yards and into a building. Scarborough was then fired and all records of his affiliation with the police and with Cyberkinetics were locked away.

Grieving the loss of his job, Scarborough vowed to master his new powers and become the city’s protector once again. Shedding his title of Lieutenant Roy Scarborough, he became Gateway, master of telekinesis, hero of Cyberkinetics, Inc!
Notes: Character is based off of Foxborough, Masachusetts based company Cyberkinetics Neurotechnology Systems, Inc who is developing The Brain-Gate Neural Interface System (BGNIS), designed to transmit neural impulses that will move objects without the use of hands.

#4 – Arinn, drawn by Beausephus

| November 4, 2011 | 4 Comments

CHARACTER NAME: Arinn

DATE OF CREATION: 1988

CONCEPT: A savage alien life form who is pursued and eventually befriended by intergalactic bounty hunter KRITON.  Arinn is pure rage and animal instinct, but can communicate coherently by “emotional telepathy” – projecting his impressions, mental images, and emotions into the mind of others.  Arinn begins an alliance with KRITON, who he considers the only person in the galaxy as bitter as he is.

_____________________

Arinn was created by my greatest childhood friend for our Elementary School comic book series, ARKON COMICS.  Arinn was essentially a savage Lobo meets Wolverine character.  My friend created basic images of the character and I tweaked them a bit as I drew most of the stories.  We teamed him up with my character KRITON, and then developed a back story where their uneasy alliance began.

Arinn’s method of communication via “emotional telepathy” was a wy to keep him savage and uncontrollable but still a character with more than just bloodlust and Wolverine style bone claws (decades before Wolverine himself had bone claws).

My friend, sadly, passed away when we were 18, so I knew that I had to include some of our creations in this challenge.  I am more than proud to share some of my happiest childhood memories with everyone.

Thanks for checking out my stuff,

Beausephus

Day 03- Goblin Freud

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

This is Goblin Freud. He was arrested by the good fairies long ago for picking up field mice and smashing their skulls with his huge hammer. After he was arrested the good fairies wanted to remind others not to hurt small rodents. They clearly couldn’t use the story of Goblin Freud as an example because it was dreadfully gory and would frighten the children. Instead they changed his name up a bit, pretended he was a bunny, and as a result we now have the song we all know “Little Bunny Freu Freu.”

| November 4, 2011 | 1 Comment

Sorcha Ericson of the Ericson Athelings is captain of a band of mercenary space marines native to the frigid, hostile marine planet Alcor 13. She’s loud, foul-mouthed and violent, but only because she’s had to out-yell, out-curse, and out-fight every man she’s come across on her way up the heavily patriarchal military leadership of the clan. She was promoted to Major when the Ericsons were hired out by the noble house Ataraxia, a matriarchal dynasty who preferred female leaders. She now commands the infantry of the Theta Squadron. Her promotion has been met with no small amount of ire from many of her male peers, regardless of how long-overdue the promotion was.

I know I’m behind a day – I’ll post a double feature tomorrow to catch up.

Setashia

The Sexy Avenging Narwhal Chick

The deep blue wonder.

Setashia is the protector of the most delectable mammals on the planet.

“For a long time, I wanted to be a CPA, maybe own a wine bar, but I found that it was too difficult to try to drink wine, do math, and still be able to interact with people with any form of civility.”

Setashia, determining that it would be better to become a mascot for all things simple minded and tasty, and to remove herself to a place of bitter coldness and solitariness, decided to lay down her glass and pencil, and become a creature of the deep still waters.  Most everyone agreed that it would be better if she isolated herself too.

“Don’t call me a whale… that’s not accurate,” she exclaimed at the end of our interview.  “Besides, if you wanted to call a whale, you’d have to use it’s own language!”

“Cack, cack, cack, aurooow, auroooow!”

#3 – Collision

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

Ugh barely made it. Today gets sketchy style because I was busy as crap. (6 hours of school+sculpture project due+5 hours of work)

Oh and our hot water heater is busted so that’s just peachy.

Anyway, I caused a car wreck today and I’m still feeling really guilty about it even though it technically wasn’t my fault. So I just drew without thinking. Her name is Collision. I assume she must be one of Death’s sisters? With those arms yeah.

#3 Darius The Spear Fighter

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

Darius learned long ago the value of a good spear. For that is what he used to defend hisw family against an onslaught of savage orcs. He took his first spear from one that he tackled and proceeded to slay the rest. The orcs pitiful swords and axes did not have the necessary reach to even graze him.

#3 – Monica and Kyra

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

To talk about one is to talk about the other, so naturally, they’re here as a team!

Monica’s known for quite some time that she’s got a pretty bad genetic disorder hanging out in her, waiting to take her out sometime in the middle of what should be a long, healthy life. So, she figures she has a limited time to do whatever the heck she wants to do with herself… doing crazy stunts, mouthing off to whoever she feels like, and jumping up at the opportunity to be bonded with her very own fighting android, Kyra. The program had the machines specifically choose their co-pilots, and Kyra designated Monica as her other half.

Each time Monica takes the wheel of Kyra, a little bit of each mind seeps into the other. They learn from each other, and there’s a high chance that the more time they spend together, they will eventually become completely indistinguishable from one another. Monica’s not sure what to make of this, nor does she really seem to care at the moment. As long as her clock keeps ticking, she’ll do whatever gives her the rush of the moment. She hasn’t told anyone about her medical problem. It’s quite an incredible strain on Kyra, who, while as loud and brash as Monica, is quite more open about her true feelings, and deeply wishes that Monica would be honest with herself just for once.

Kyra’s ideal fighting style is quick and airy. She prefers to use weapons over physical strength. The pieces on her head are very sharp, and can be detached and used as blades.

Monica loves cars and the color yellow, hates the rain, and is almost never seen without her huge goggles. Kyra enjoys reading trashy romance novels, complaining loudly about whether she should re-paint herself for the tenth time, and hates the winter.

Trained to fight humans on the seemingly endless battlefields of Apollosia, Quel-Kannan has a deep hatred of man… but also a deep sense of right and wrong. His coming to the Broken Lands must be noted, for his cunning and skills could be used to hunt down pitiful human escaped slaves to the north… or the bigoted elven nation that owned them.

G. Brett Williams #3 – Rocket 88

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

Rocket 88 (Eddie Pena) is another of the original American Evos that made up Cyclone’s strike team. Eddie was a latino teenager from Southern California whose passions were skateboards and working on engines. Eddie Pena liked to go FAST, which is a good thing since his evolved talents allowed him to move faster than any human alive. Eddie Pena became the fastest man in the world. Having grown up in the vibrant punk rock community of Southern California, Eddie had been exposed to a lot of musical styles throughout his youth. He particularly identified with rockabilly and old rock and roll, any music from the fifties and sixties that celebrated cars and greaser culture. So when it came time for him to choose his codename for the strike force, he chose Rocket 88, a reference to the song by Jackie Brenston about an old hot rod that most people consider to be the first rock and roll song of all time.

Rocket 88 is the resident joker and rebel of the group. The least militaristic by far, he is however reliable and trustworthy, and great when the team needs anything repaired in a flash.

#3 Don Jacinto

| November 4, 2011 | 0 Comments

Don Jacinto

Don Jacinto:

“Chiquillos de porra… Bien les dije que dejaran esa vaina en paz!” (“Damn kids… I told them to leave that alone!”)

Jacinto Perez has a reputation of being a total grump among the kids in the neighborhood, always ruin their fun and otherwise being a total killjoy.

Of course, if any of them would take the time to get through his tough exterior, they’re bound to find out that he can be fun as well; in fact, should you listen to his advice once in a while, he would tell you stories about his youth, concerning adventures of his own involving ghosts, witches and even the devil himself…

How much of that is true is up to debate of course.

Day 4: Kid Quick

| November 4, 2011 | 4 Comments

Or rather, I should say, ex-Kid Quick

In his glorious youth, Danny Doyle was known as KID QUICKSILVER or KidQuick for short.
Known for his lightning fast speed and equally fast healing and thinking abilities, KidQuick was the hero to beat.

And one day, someone finally did.
Though able to save several of his incapacitated friends, Danny was caught in a blast himself.
He survived but forever lost his sight.

Eventually his body healed but his eyes never did. His friends tried to help him as best they could but it seemed nothing could be done.
Even bionic eyes were attempted, but engineered eyes couldn’t match the speed of his body and would burn out in hours.

Time went on and crime didn’t stop just because KidQuick was forced to put on the breaks.
The other superheroes continued their work and eventually Danny faded in memory.

Except, of course, his own.

Now Danny is left to his own devices, still fast as ever, mind whirling in a storm of fury, hatred and depression at being abandoned by the people he saved.
And he aims to do something about it.
