…Well, not exactly 30, but it’s a good chunk, nonetheless.
I had a great time with this challenge, even if I wasn’t able to make it to #30. I would like to continue on and perhaps put everything together in the future–we’ll see. There were many fantastic artists who had incredible characters on display–I feel pretty humbled by some of them. To everyone, I say, “Great job!” and will definitely take part next year.
Thanks to everyone who gave comments and kind words, and also thanks to Rob McClellan, who sent me the info for the challenge.
(Now, I hope to heaven this post works right…..)

Hello everyone, I'm Marc McKenzie, and this is my second year taking part in of this challenge. I've been a freelancer for the past few years, working in animation and creating commissioned work for clients including the New York Times. There have been ups and downs, but...that's life. Honestly, though, I enjoyed taking part in the challenge last year, and I hope to do my best this year...but I hope that everyone does their best and has fun!
Ironically, I never really set out to do art at first. I studied something completely different in college and it was only because of an art teacher that I changed gears.
Currently I'm living in Hillsborough, New Jersey, working on commissions, trying to find full-time work, and being a doting uncle to my niece.
I just have to say, I’ve loved your art style since early on in the challenge, and I still do. Congratulations on your great work, and the best of luck to you for your future pursuits!
Thank you so much, Amanda! I’ve also loved your work as well, and was very glad to see the characters you created. This challenge was a lot of fun to do, and it was a blast to see the great work from everyone involved.
Best of luck to you too in your future endeavors!
