Day 24 – Star Ranger

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Champion of the Universe!

Before becoming an intergalactic champion, Star Ranger was a simply a postal worker from Middle America.  While delivering a package to body-building champion, Rex Storm, he was hit by a Tele-beam that transported him across the galaxy and into the ranks of the Stellar Ranger Corps — an galactic peace-keeping org made of the sentient beings in the galaxy.  Joining their mission, whether by fate or folly, the Star Ranger has proven to be  valuable addition to their team.

#24 – Xehalora

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

XEHALORA, warrior queen of the undead legions in Ãœllendor. The great colossus, NECRONAUGHT, answers only to her commands.

– – – – –

The leather armor worn by the undead queen is modeled after & inspired by the designs of Mildred von Hildegard, for her label Mother of London.

I went out-of-town for the holidays, and couldn’t post any of my characters. I did manage to keep mostly on schedule; I’ve fallen behind by a day.

Day 15: Macey

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

A mysterious entity, Macey was only recently confirmed to be female.  People only catch brief glimpses of her silhouette if they’re lucky.  There are many rumors and speculations as to who or what she is, but nobody can say for certain.  Is she a ghost?  An old witch playing tricks on people, perhaps?  Or maybe she’s just an extremely sheltered and shy young girl doing her best to avoid people in general.  Who knows!

#28 The Oxymoron

| November 29, 2010 | 1 Comment

The OXYMORON is the world’s most notorious psychopath and super-criminal mastermind.  He is the arch-nemesis of RED.

This is another THE RED TEN character concept.  Equal parts The Joker and The Riddler, insanely smart, and obsessed with RED.

#21 Parker Peters

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Yeah. I went there.

Parker Peters is a teenage wunderkind. At age 16, he was on his way to MIT. But thanks to a paperwork foul up, he’s going to have to spend his first semester at a crappy nearby community college in the interim. The only thing on his schedule that looked remotely interesting was Theoretical Sciences. And little does he know how much that class will change his life.

A character a friend & I are kicking around for a Challengers of the Unknown/Fantastic Four Pre-Powers style story. This is the nerd guy. But thanks to the way things work out these days, that makes him among one of the cooler students on campus, although he doesn’t even realize it. And the patriotic get up is his “lab” uniform.

#20 Saul the Goronge

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

A monster’s no better than a man. Sometimes, a monster has needs. And Saul’s no different.

Sometimes, Saul likes to dress up. That’s not a crime. But he’s worried about what other people might think. Now there’s some jerkweed kid that’s got some “Compromising Images” of Saul. For now, the brat’s trying his patience, extorting him into doing menial tasks for him. Meanwhile, he’s trying his best to snag the incriminating material & get on with his life. Or maybe he could just come to terms with being exposed for what he is. It might be a weight off his shoulders. But until that day, it’s beating up bullies & monsters, & doing math homework (poorly).

#19 Milo

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Milo used to be scared of the monsters in his closet & under his bed. But Milo was a smart kid with resources. He knows a little thing or two about computers & cameras & surveillance methods. That’s how he came across the dirt he came across. You see, a monster by the name of Saul the Goronge used to mortify young Milo. Then one night, after their typical interaction, Milo used his computer to follow Saul’s movements, which were into Milo’s Mom’s closet & into her underwear drawer. Apparently Saul likes to play dress up.

Now, holding a manila envelope labeled “compromising images,” Milo’s reluctantly come to an understanding with Saul. Saul’s now gone rogue. He wards off other monsters in Milo & sometimes even other kids’ closets too. He even got Saul to start taking care of the day to day issues he runs into, like bullies & math homework. Yeah, everything is coming up Milo, for now.

#18 Mikan

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Mikan-chan was always a bright & chipper girl. She had good grades, came from a good family & everything was great. But that was until she was dumped by the boy of her dreams. Broken hearted, the girl with the sunny disposition didn’t know how to cope. She ran away from home. Her destination? Aokigahara, the sea of trees, also known as the Suicide Forest.

Her family tracked her down. A week had passed since she had left & they feared the worst. But she was sitting there, at the edge of the parking lot, seemingly safe & sound, but not quite herself. She’s colder, emotionless, much more robotic. And lately, she’s been coming & going at all hours. Her family has no idea what to make of it.

That’s because she’s been on the prowl. Watching the movements of Yakuza in the nastier part of town. Definitely an environment much rougher than she’s used to. But she’s unphased. Her motives are unclear. But her objective’s pretty apparent: collecting the head of Ikegami Hideo.

Probably drew her a little too stout & emotive. Also she doesn’t look very Japanese but whatever. I like how the rest of it turned out. Didn’t mention it but she has an arsenal of traditional Japanese weapons she seems to have stockpiled. Every time she tries to attack Hideo, it’s something else.

#17 Ikegami Hideo

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Every group needs a funny guy. And that was Hideo when it came to the rest of the gang. After years & years of service, he’s only officially reached the rank of big brother. And only because he’s funny. In fact, in every other regard, Hideo was pretty much a screw up. He’s lucky to have lasted as long as he have among the ranks, with as many fingers as he still has. But luckily, he’s laid low enough to keep the blade away from his belly. Funny & lucky. That was Hideo. At least until one day, when that luck seemingly ran out.

There was a raid. Tokyo police clamped down & arrested every high ranking member of the family. In the commotion, Hideo started to run. He made his way to an alley, only to lead police on a back street chase. For his trouble, he received two gunshot wounds: one to the gut & one to the side of the head. He died. He remembered it happening.

So imagine his surprise when he woke up, with gaping wounds & permanently red eyes (like his retinas detached). He should be dead, but he’s not & he doesn’t know how or why. And while he’s not the head of the family, his standing among the remaining family is now substantially higher. And they’re looking to hold down their remaining territory from their violent rivals & possibly spring their captive comrades. If that wasn’t stressful enough, some mysterious young girl is after him. Every time he turns around, there she is. Worst yet, despite her innocuous appearance, she’s apparently an unstoppable killing machine. And he’s her main target. He doesn’t know what’s going on, but he’s received this second chance & he’s not going to give it up without a fight.

I screwed up the legs & feet because I was running out of paper & had to fudge it in photoshop. His feet make him look like he’s floating right now. And that works for his character, so whatever.

Every group needs a funny guy. And that was

Hideo when it came to the rest of the gang.

After years & years of service, he’s only

officially reached the rank of big brother.

And only because he’s funny. In fact, in every

other regard, Hideo was pretty much a fuck up.

He’s lucky to have lasted as long as he have

among the ranks. He’s lacking a few digits, &

had to eat his hat on numerous ocassions, but

has certainly kept the blade away from his

belly. That was until one day, when that luck

seemingly ran out.

There was a raid. Tokyo police clamped down &

arrested every high ranking member of the

family. In the commotion, Hideo started to

run. He made his way to an alley, only to lead

police on a back street chase. For his

trouble, he received two gunshot wounds: one

to the gut & one to the side of the head.

Now, Hideo is among one of defacto heads of

the family on this side of prison bars. And

they’re all bent on survival.

But this girl

The Biomorph

This character was inspired by the baby robot that even *I* found disturbing in Daft Punk’s “Technologic” video. This is what I imagine that sweet lil’ baby looks like now. I blew up the head so you can see the stupid teeth I drew. LOOK AT THE TEETH!!!! 😉

Ah, high octane nightmare fuel. Here we go.

To call this thing a droid is somewhat of a misnomer because it’s not necessarily a discrete inorganic organism so much as a fortress with legs. Standing at about 30 feet tall, seeing one of these on the field is enough to make any Valkyrie or Odin weak in the knees. It’s nigh invulnerable to traditional weapons, has enough turrets on its sides to rival any battleship, has anti-air defense missles and can house a number of droids inside, such as Spiders, Scorpions, or even a few Dragonflies.

Really, only heavy duty bombs are the main course of neutralizing this thing.

#16 and #17 Roadrage and Black bird

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

I forgot to submit my characters, but here you go for #16 and #17 since they are the one and the same character.  Roadrage, the guy with the blue suit in the front is the main character who is finding the lifestyle of wrestling can be a bit challenging and something that he really did not want, but he does it for the fans and maybe his esteem.  #17 is the character behind him.  His alter ego wrestling in the beginning of his career, blackbird.

#22 American Dick

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

He is a wrestler among the WRW.  Studious and acurate, but very nasty he has the attitude that the WRW wants when it comes to wrestling.  he can also be a comic in his own right.

#21 Ghost Rider Sue

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Ghost rider sue is the girl in the group but she has skills that none of the other boys will have.  Our human who they help falls in love with her, but since she is dead and just roaming the range, she is nothing but a fascination to the ranger.  she is the best friend of the guys and helps out with her smart skills.

#20 Ghost Rider Fatbelly

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

This is of course a side kick to Jeans, who is always helpful but bumbling.  He is very smart and wise to the herder of the ghosts and helps out any way he can to the new human in the range of problems.

#19 Ghost Rider “Jeans”

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

I heard the song Ghostriders in the sky, and really found it interesting and a great story to write about so here you go.  Since the song was originally made for gene autry, i decided to make him the main character, but I will call him Jeans.  He is actually a friend to an open ranger who is trying his best to be an excellent ranger but he always seems to run into problems with outlaws and other things.  I think that the ghostriders will help out a lot in the story.

#27 The Mold

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Alien shapeshifter.  Communicates telepathically.  Easily manipulated.  A member of The Alliance.

Day 29: Windy Witchman

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Her name is Windy and she’s a witch.  Just a coincidence that her hair always looks like it’s caught in a windstorm.

Day 28: Lisa Laserfield

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Her name is Lisa and she tip toes through the laser fields.  She’s also a tramp, but that’s got nothing to do with this.

#29 The Damnable Drunkard

| November 29, 2010 | 1 Comment

Daryl Plotzman used to be a devoted family man, a reliable delivery truck driver for a dairy, and an all around classy guy…That is, until he (rather stupidly) drank a can of beer he found in the wreckage of a UFO that crashed in the cornfield behind his house. Now, when he consumes enough alcohol, he becomes The Damnable Drunk – a nigh invulnerable, super-strong tank of a super-hero.

Unfortunately, he’s been called upon to save the world so many times that he’s become a raging alcoholic. He’s alienated his family, friends, co-workers and other super-heroes…and yet — every time he tries to dry out, another alien civilazation invades or super-volcano explodes, forcing him to make yet another trip to the liquor store for the sake of humanity.

# 28 The Zebu of Ominous Tiding

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Caught in a vicious time rift caused by an accident with the Madhava accelerator in Kerala, India in the year 2310, This poor Zebu is now lost in the timestream. He appears wherever there is a significant event nexus, leading all the way back into recorded history (and likely beyond). Because of this, the Zebu itself has become a symbol of change, importance, and of course – ominous tidings, Especially when appearing in out of place situations – such as the Battle of Waterloo, the death of Genghis Khan, and the birth of the greatest U.S. president – Raven Symone.

#27 The Black Obelisk of Zhakat-Ghoraht

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

In the beginning of man’s ascent, he was beset by all nature of otherworldly horrors clinging to existence after the cataclysms that marked the end of the Eldritch Era. None, however, took as huge a toll in lives and souls as this ever shifting and nameless monster of primeval africa. After countless years of sacrifice and death, a jet black obelisk was constructed out of  the skulls of millions of the monsters victims, and cemented with morter of bone-black and human blood. The monster was finally sealed away, and humanity could begin its rise to prominence on earth. But should the now buried monument ever be discovered, should it ever fall…the consequences would indeed be grim…

Day 23 – The Nameless

#28 Dania Wallace

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Growing up Dania Wallace was very close to Jerry’s wife, her grandaunt and spent a lot of time with them. A curious kid, she poked around in his stuff learning all about Jerry’s secrets and rich history. Unable to dissuade her, her gave in and took her under his wing. After her grandaunt passed away, Jerry became increasingly solitary. But despite his crankiness and often unpleasant demeanor, Dania took it upon herself to take care of him in his old age. She tries to swing by his apartment to check in at least once a day. Plus, it also gives her access to his amazing library!

What follows is an excerpt from The Omega Kid, episode 2 (you can read episode 1 here):

INT. JERRY’S BUILDING – 25TH FLOOR – LATER

Rick and Lawrence sits on the floor. Rick has the Amulet out and is looking at it. Lawrence is playing with his phone.

BING! The elevator doors open. Rick quickly puts the Amulet away.

DANIA WALLACE steps out. She’s a woman in her 30’s, stylish in an artsy way, with horn rimmed glasses. Across her shoulders she’s carrying a messenger bag and in her hands grocery bags. She’s holding some groceries and walks down the hall. The boys stand up. She stops in front of Jerry’s apartment.

DANIA
Excuse me, boys.

LAWRENCE
Hey Miss, do you live here?

DANIA
No, my great uncle does. Are you boys fans?

For a brief moment a devious look crosses Lawrence face, then he gets really, really excited in front of Dania.

LAWRENCE
Yes! We are! Huge fans! We really want autographs.
(sad face)
But he won’t let us in.

DANIA
Uncle Jerry can be cranky. I’ll let you kids in,
and I’ll make sure he signs those autographs.

Dania puts down her groceries and starts digging through her bag. While she looks for her keys, Lawrence flashes a thumbs up to Rick. Rick shrugs at him, worried. Lawrence grins.

Dania finds the keys, picks up the grocery bags and starts unlocking the door.

ONE LOCK. From inside the sound of shuffling footsteps hobbling along with a cane, coming back towards the door. TWO LOCKS.

JERRY (O.C.)
No!

THREE LOCKS. Dania pushes the door open.

INT. JERRY’S APARTMENT – CONTINUOUS

Jerry is trying to hobble over to the door but it’s too late. Dania opens it and the boys come rushing in after her.

JERRY
What are you doing?

DANIA
Relax, Uncle. They’re just fans. Don’t be so
annoying and sign some autographs for them.

JERRY
That’s not what they want, silly girl!

DANIA
Be nice, Uncle.

RICK
Actually, ma’am, we don’t want autographs. And we’re not fans, exactly.

Rick reaches into his pocket and pulls out the Omega Amulet. Dania sees it and her jaw drops. And so do the grocery bags she was holding.

DANIA
Is that…?

JERRY
The groceries!

DANIA
Uncle, is that what I think it is?

JERRY
Yes. Now, can you pick up the groceries?

LAWRENCE
Who are you people?

#27 Hornet Droid

| November 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

For this particular droid, I drew inspiration from Item #1 in this little slice of nightmare fuel, the Giant Japanese Hornet. I needed a droid that was bigger than a dragonfly, but not too big. So, the resultant is the Hornet.

The Hornet is bigger and more heavily armed than a dragonfly and designed to be a fear factor like the scorpion. While not quite as agile as the dragonfly, the Hornet is rarely used to engage fighters. Much more often, these guys are used as bombers, laying waste to anything below it.
